Item Story
A spine that holds up the sky.
The true companion of the Anemo Archon never wavered in its desire to protect the land of wind.
This unshakeable resolve sustained the wind dragon through its mortal battle against its vile nemesis.

In olden times, the shadow dragon Durin, covetous of the peace Mondstadt enjoyed, came forth to defile the land.
Durin's black wings blotted out the sky, releasing clouds of toxic fumes,
So much so that even the thousand winds could not hold their pestilence and rot at bay,
And thus fell black rain from the skies, the din of their downpour drowning the cries and groans of the people.
The Anemo Archon was awakened by the sound of their agony, and his heart was pierced by their despair.
So he summoned Dvalin to his side, and shrouding themselves in storm, they pierced through the poisoned skies.

The great dragon plunged in with a cry, tearing a swathe through the noxious nimbus the shadow dragon had created.
Following his wings came a great, swift whirlwind that destroyed those venomous clouds.
Dvalin seized the poisonous dragon in his mighty claws, ascending to heights that even clouds could not fathom.
The poisonous rain had scattered as the clouds had been left behind, and the burning skies became the dragons' battleground.

At last the wind dragon's razor fangs pierced his foe's throat, and his great claws tore out its corrupted heart.
The sinners' creation, filled with eternal regret, fell from the spotless skies and fell to ruin upon a snowy peak.
That fierce battle in the distant skies had thus defended the people of the Anemo Archon.
But at the moment of his triumph, the venomous ichor of his foe had flowed between his teeth and into his guts.

The pain withered bone and marrow, and in his agony the great wind dragon curled up in the depths of an ancient ruin.
...Nursing his wounds, Dvalin still believed that one day, he would be reawakened.
He would again pierce the heavens, scatter the darkness, and sing to the sounds of the lyre of the Anemo Archon, his dear friend.

I’m surprised people don’t seem to wanna use this on a support focused Zhongli? I get that Staff of Homa exists but at the same time if you have one and also a Hu Tao, you’re unlikely to use it on Zhongli over her. So is this good for Zhongli or not because it seems like it should be

It’s a filler weapon on Zhongli. He doesn’t take advantage of the passives at all, cause you’ll never auto attack. Energy recap he is nice but can easily use a ER sands instead. It’s really only good on Xiangling, Rosaria and Xiao.

This skyward definitely needs a buff. Lackluster in every way compared to Skyward Harp and Pride. Overall a decent filler 5* for most characters. Actually good on Rosaria and Xiangling but that’s it.

This weapon is kind of confusing, at least for the current character roster, the base ATK is godly, sub stats indicates Burst DPS/Burst mode DPS, in which currently there’s only Xiao, which, when focused on his plunge DMG, something you most probably did unless you ran a 4 set gladiator Xiao, couldn’t benefit from the extra 12% NORMAL ATK speed and lower chance of proccing the 55% 50% AOE DMG, although it could be procced by animation cancel, still 50% chance to do so, on the other hand, Normal/Charged ATK DPS, the likes of Hu Tao probably is currently the best wielder since it could benefit from her burst healing, despite her Base ATK being abysmal, and lots of calculator had said that HT can’t “max out” her ATK increase until around 50K HP, now, HT has around 100Base ATK and when paired with a 400 base ATK weapon, that equals to 500 base ATK which means a maximum of 2000 ATK increase, now, 99.98% of the time, Hu Tao won’t have enough HP to max out the ceiling oh her base ATK so that’s kind of redundant, Support oriented character like Xiangling, Rosaria, and Zhongli could benefit from ER and 8% Crit rate, but can’t, at all, utilizes it’s 12% extra ATK speed and the AOE DMG if used in in-n-out comp, but when built physically, those three could probably fare well? still, this weapon falls short when compared to it’s peers, Skyward Sword is amazing for Bennett and Jean who can maximize it’s base ATK and ER, Skyward Pride is godly with it’s ER, unconditional 8% damage increase and extra damage after unleashing burst, any claymore DPS should be able to maximize on this thing, Skyward Atlas is good considering it’s elemental damage increase of 12% and the rather gimmicky extra DMG, Skyward Harp is just unreal with it’s Crit rate + Crit DMG combo

Probably the worst five star weapon in the game. It gives 36.8% energy recharge at max lvl and 8% crit rate at r1 with 12% attack speed and a much shittier version of crescent pike’s passive.
High base attack? Sure, but having an energy recharge passive makes it below S tier for sure. Maybe its good for a support/sub dps? the passive is completely reliant on its user to be using normal attacks to be useful making it useless on a subdps and also its energy recharge incompatible. Ok maybe a future dps will be able to use it then. Sure, ifthat future dps is a character that requires energy recharge to keep his ult and also needs to make use of his normal attacks oh and also primarily deal physical damage to make use of its passive then maybe it can be considered usable but a primordial jade spear would still probably be better LUL. Also I need to mention that attack speed is a garbage stat unless its a really high amount since hitlag exists in this game so even if you have a high attack speed you would still be attacking at a slow rate thanks to hitlag making this stat garbage. the 8%crit rate is the only saving grace on this weapon and thats it, all the other things this weapon provides is too low in value to be even considered usable. ALSO AGAIN, the passive ability of this weapon is very likely to bug and miss your target however the fuck that happens I dont know but all I know is that if you are considering this weapon for a physical dps for its passive, DONT, crescent pike is much much better than this garbo.

This is probably the only 5 star weapon in the game that I would say requires a buff.

You said the word “probably” a lot lol. So how about showing some calcs to prove a point. Energy recharge is not a weak stat almost every character requires to have an ultimate up, only new characters dps that doesn’t need ER is melt ganyu and hutao. On hitlags, even without atkspeed buffs your still affected by hitlag and getting attackspeed to trigger more hitlag can be a good thing e.g. extending buff duration or skill duration. And Crit rate doesn’t need any more explanations

The proc passive is the weak one since obviously crescent pike has a better proccing passive. Even on a physical carry its downright garbage. This weapon will always be A tier at average but could be BiS on a character that has a self buff ultimate and it doesn’t need to be a physical damage dealer otherwise crescent pike will be used instead. Does it really need a buff? maybe.. But your shitting on this weapon way too much, you probably don’t even have it.

I was not in a right state of mind writing that so sorry about that. You point out that the stats are usable but do they synergize together well? if you use it on someone with no need of energy recharge you would only get the passive stats (8% crit and 12% as) and the proc passive which isn’t that good for a 5 star. If you use it on someone for its energy recharge you would only get 8% crit and attack speed and the proc passive, I’d rather just use a blackcliff/deathmatch with an energy recharge hourglass since it would give me the same thing. You agreed with the proc passive being useless so if we remove it the weapon would only provide energy recharge, 8% crit rate and attack speed Which still doesnt provide much imo. We do have a character with a self buff ultimate who uses spear and although energy recharge is good on him I’d rather just use anemo support batteries than use this weapon since most of the passive is useless on him. Overall as a stat stick this weapon looks very bad to me.

I would say this weapon is just a filler. There is no way a character can maximize both passive and substat (unless mhy proves me wrong), passive cries dps, substat cries dps with high q reliance or support. So its like either here or there and in the end u lose both kinda thing, got 2 of those and im using one on xiao (no luck on jade) which wont benefit much from ER due to his Q being not able to create energy particle and one on zhongli still decent tho but not much benefit from passive due to his kit (unless u are playing autos). Still thinking if i should use it on rosaria (physical build cant benefit much from ER, support build cant benefit much from passive) unless i build hybrid which can hurt both builds at the same time. This is my personal opinion, take it with a grain of salt. Gonna see how it goes.

used her on xiangling and loved it, pulled hu tao last night and was kinda disappointed when I found out about staff of homa, but honestly, this spear works really well with her. i am only wl5 and I haven’t raised hu tao all the way yet cause I’m lacking materials but so far hu tao does like up to 5k which is amazing!

Dont sleep on this weapon, the 40% atk bonus can crit, if your build has a lot of atk crit damage and crit rate, this weapon will also scale really well with your build, basically the more strong you are, the more strong the weapon effect will be , i tested with a meme build on xiao with atk% cup, with 40% crit rate and 170 crit damage ( just to see how much i could hit) the weap was giving me 4k+ (effect only) when the effect crits . 4k each 2 seconds… i was really impressed

    1. yup best weapon for hu tao after staff of homa

Crit rate + ER + attack speed. I’ll be good. Only spear that give attack speed which is very good tho.
Might not be as good as Jade or Deathmatch but you got a lot of atk !

It’s most probably better than Death match. Just look at the base attack difference it’s Insane.
+You get decent crit rate, Ultimate Spam, attack speed for faster plunge attack cancling + that 50% attack passive will also work as you are attack cancelling
