Item Story

First, the sun and the moons were created, and thus day and night came to be. She once described the night sky adorned with three bright moons to me in a language I have now forgotten — yes, the number of moons should be three.
May the shadows of the world cast their pearly shimmer upon the earth when they awake, such that people can follow the silver-plated outline of the dunes at night to find their final fate.

Next, weight was created. Thus sand sank, forming the earth. And that which was without weight became the sky. I stipulated that one should rely on the earth, but dream of the sky.
The weight should not be excessive, or the land will bind people’s feet, impede those longing to travel far, and hinder expansion through exploration, while causing people to be unable to fly high, unable to explore the future.

Then the seven sage monks were established again, and they ruled the trajectories drawn by the earth, water, and stars. Even if the celestial sphere was just an illusion, myths are often born when people look up at the stars and moons.

In the original world, the barriers were torn down, and the dark poison had penetrated the earth. To heal that fragile, sad, and imperfect world, the spikes descended and pierced through the earth’s crust.
However, the rules I have set are more elegant and precise, so there is no need and there should be no followers of hers who shall die meaninglessly on their account, and no poetry should be lost for their sake.

Next, the beastly trail from the poison should be cut off, for taking poison is a sin running deeper than the sky. But how sweet the whispers can be, and how clear the wisdom of which they speak…
The wind arises in the new world. The pearly moonlight, the amber afterglow, the waves of grass, and the roots of the waters have gradually ceased to be silent, all singing the poems that she left behind.

The cycle of seven must be removed, because the secret narrative will be blocked.
Fear and grief must be torn down, and so the barrier between life and death must be removed.
Remove the sun, the moons, and weight, for there should be no barriers between time and space.
Remove the original principles of rules, verdicts, and grace, so that she will no longer be afraid of the punishment that is laid on her kin.
Remove birds, beasts, fish, dragons, humans, and seven monk-kings, so that none shall steal wisdom.

“The Sand King sleeps alone in secret dreams, drawing up new theorems.”
“None shall have to drink salt water in the King’s realm, for everything in the new world shall be good.”

This is how perfection can be achieved. I can see the three of us debating in our paradise once more. We are so close.
Yes, this is splendid. I understand now. This is what I have always wanted. That which I have always longed to find once more has never been a paradise for the many.
All the parodies of the teachings and the seven wise monks, or that so-called pure world free of all sorrows, none of those things matter anymore…

But I do not wish that the poison ingested by mistake should remain in this world. Perhaps she might, in light of our old friendship…
— Even if she will not do it for my sake, that is also fine. I only ask that she do me one last favor for the sake of our mutual friend…

  1. By far the best weapon in the game. Game defining weapon. As in characters will have to built around the fact that this weapon exists.
Also: If you had the sword equivalent for c6 kazuha, he’d become main dps overnight. 3(4)k attack with 1k EM, and 240% increased normal attack damage, and maybe benett infusions for vape or melt mults for around 6times the damage.

    • First, the weapon sucks on everyone except Cyno. And even for him: then do what? There is no endgame, and there never will be one. Spend all your money on C6 Cyno with R5 scam weapon then go play card game, or play hide and seek in trash kiddy festival with Paimon screaming about food.

      • This weapon is insane for any polearm character that can be played around reactions, wdym lmaooo. It lets you build full on EM without caring much about attack and still have insane amounts of attack. This weapon is INSANE dude. If there were equivalents for catalysts or swords, like for example for kazuha, then everyone would be losing their shits.
We are still on the beginning of Sumeru and still have so so many characters to come. This weapon is game changing tbh, and any weapon that works similarly.

        • Not for HP scaling character tho… nor for characters who plays with bennett. For HP scaling character, either they gain more atk from HP, or don’t scale with atk stats at all, making the passive either not so good, or completely useless. With characters who plays with bennett, the passive become diminishingly irrelevant because atk stats is no longer that valuable, and would prefer dmg% increase where something like 4 star the catch become a much better option.

With that being said, this is the breakdown for those characters:
          – Xiangling: Don’t really care with the passive due to the presence of bennett, this polearm is not a dps increase to “the catch”, so just go fishing and you’ll get this weapon’s performance for free
          – Hutao: Dragon’s bane is literally better for her and it’s a 4 star weapon. If you want 5 star weapon for her, just go homa
          – Shenhe: no
          – Rosaria: Same condition with xiangling on reverse melt team, absolute NO in freeze team
          – Xiao: no
          – Thom.. no
          – Raiden: no
          – YunjiNo
          – Zhongli: NO
          – Candeeznuts: hah

Yea, only cyNo wants this, so… yea… “insane for any polearm character that can be played around reactions” is technically almost right, but you’re missing the part that said “also don’t want bennett and scale heavily with ATK stats”, the only character that fits the bill is cyNo.

          • This weapon is great for Dendro Unit. Imagine playing a Hyperbloom, Quicken, Quickbloom, Burgeon team. Who said Thoma can’t use this? This works great with Thoma Burgeon

          • It’s technically viable on anyone. It’s like Primordial Jade Cutter; it can act as a statstick and the passive is a bonus.

    • Assuming your Hu Tao and her team is built for EM, this weapon can be significantly better than Homa.

Looking at both weapons at R5, Scarlet Sands gives a Hu Tao with 500EM around the same amount of ATK that R5 Homa gives you a Hu Tao with 40,000 HP.

In almost all cases, EM actually provides Hu Tao more Vaporiser DMG than HP, but building for EM can be a lot more costly and tedious (as this requires support from characters such as Nahida, Sucrose or C2 Kazuha, a Bow user with Elegy, or any character with instructors).
Building a team with two or more of these factors can net you a Hu Tao with over 1000 EM, which will give her about 2,500 ATK (Compared to the 1400 ATK that R5 Homa with 40,000 HP will give).

This is all on top of the 22% more crit value Scarlet Sands gives over Homa.

All that being said, I’d recommend going for Homa in most cases since it gives a lot more flexibility in how you build your Hu Tao and has no ramp-up time on its DMG (Scarlet Sands requires that your blood blossoms trigger 3 times in order to reach it’s max ATK bonus).

  2. Reminder that the weapon banner is a scam.
Mihoyo want you to spend all your primos only to get Skyward polearm then the bow. They manipulate you so you spend a ton of money to get this ugly weapon.
You don’t even need it, the abyss is easy and there is nothing else to do.
Don’t fall for Mihoyo scam, don’t be sheep, never spend any money on gambling trash.

      • Some people just like to complain. Imagine saying there is only the Abyss and “there is nothing else to do” when Part 1 of an entire new region has been released. This person might have a lot of free time to spare and not a whole lot of other rl activities/responsibilities.
They’re even still calling them miHoYo to boot. Dude’s probably been complaining on HI about the game and HYV for at least a year.

        • Calm down Mihoyo plant.
Except abyss 30 minutes every 2 weeks, there is nothing else to do with a built team. If you need a 5* weapon to kill hillichurls and fungi in the new regions you are a dumb whale or the perfect mark for the gambling scam.
Reminder: you don’t need a 5* weapon to do abyss either, don’t spend any money on the weapon scam banner designed to steal your primos then real money.

          • People spend money because they want to have fun :^) Mihoyo get the money, they get what they want : D i dont see any issue with that

          • Go post your PSA against using the weapon banner on the official Hoyolab website then. You’re not going to reach all the players from here.

        • And some people just like do whiteknight for their scummy corporation. Imagine saying irrelevant strawman mockery that doesn’t even related to what the comment is about.

Calm down mr. whiteknight, pander to other shits for now, hyv already got way too many billions of dollars for you to care about. I’m not surprised that the whitenights don’t have the guts to actually answer to the complaint about how weapon banner is an actual scam. As if they know that it’s a scam, but they have this impulse to defend hyv somehow, they skirt around the subject, build a strawman, and attack it instead.

That’s what you get when you’re trying to make justification on a corporation that’s mostly scummy. Work harder, and go find yourself topics to defend, while cowardly slithering around the actual subject that’s being brought up. Unless of course, if you somehow managed to find justification for this scummy psychological manipulation tactic of ridiculously expensive gacha mechanic. Go ahead, defend this topic, mr. whiteknight. I’d love to see you actually talk about this without skirting around the subject.

          • I haven’t skirted around the subject. The weapon banner has an extremely low success rate. It’s gambling and it’s designed to keep you pulling. But what you and the OP are doing like walking into a casino and complaining abut how the odds are against you. Except with Genshin, you can play the game without buying into it at all.

If you think HYV is so scummy, then refusing to spend is the best way to deal. You’re taking up your quarrel with players instead of directing your problem to HYV. Are you afraid they’ll ban your account if you rant and harass people on the official forums?

    • Exactly. The game is easy af, so spend your primogems on whatever you like. I’m f2p and I’ve been doing the abyss full stars for more than a year, I stopped playing some months ago because I got so bored of everything.
Now cyno, a character ive been waiting for since the beginning is here, so I chose to spend my sumeru primogems on him and his weapon. I don’t need him, I’ve got plenty of stronger character, but I LIKE him, so I pulled for him AND his weapon. And, thankfully, I could get them both, and I’m happy.
He is not the best character, but that’s not importante here.
What is important is to forget the meta and pull for whatever you want and like.
      XOXO

      • I also wanted to add that I’ve been playing with this philosophy since I started the game, and here I am, having more fun and enjoying the characters I love without caring about that meta. And completing the abyss without problem. But the abyss is boring.
What matters in this game is to enjoy the exploration and the story. So yeah, maybe if you don’t have anything to do more than the abyss every 2 weeks, I advise you take a break for some months/until there is good content (like new regions or events).
You will like the game more that way. I did it, and I don’t regret losing all those days of events and dailies.
