Item Story

This crimson polearm has seen countless battles, and has borne witness to a certain gladiator's valor.
Its ice-cold tip was often drenched in the blood of its foes, to the thunderous applause of the crowd.
Bloodstained was the gladiator's fate, and freedom, so near yet so far, was often balanced on a knife's edge.
The dull sound of that crimson tip piercing flesh was many a battle's death-knell.

As the gladiator's final performance ended, their master spoke up amidst the thunderous applause:
"The promised number has been met. You have done well, and are a warrior worthy of great renown."
"Consider this weapon to be a parting gift... Yet, would you not consider fighting on?"
"Continue your brilliant performance as a free person, for your glory and for mine. What say you?"
Many years past, and the beasts and men who fell to that spear grew too numerous to count.
The duelist's weapon became known as undefeated, but his heart belonged to his young master.

As the gladiator's final performance ended, amidst thunderous applause,
His weapon fell to the bloodied sand as the red-haired maiden's scorching blade pierced the old warrior's heart.
As he fell, despondent, he turned his eyes to his beloved master, his noble lord who cherished him...
"Eberhart, Master Eberhart... Did my final performance please you?"
But his master's seat was empty, save for a wine goblet and silver platter, toppled in haste.

"At first, I fought for myself, for blood and battle-lust."
"But since a time I know not when, I have killed for my master."
"Only for the sake of others can we fight like wild beasts without care."
"Someone like you, who fights for her people and not for herself... Surely, you understand this as well."

is deathmatch good for hu tao?????

It’s one of her best weapons. It’s of course behind Homa, because that’s an OP weapon, but it’s very competitive with her best 4*s. Deathmatch’s huge crit rate bonus works very well to balance out Hu Tao’s crit damage ascension stat (leading to a 42/88 crit ratio at level 90, before artifacts are added). The low base ATK isn’t a problem for her at all, because you won’t be building much ATK% on her (HP% is about twice as valuable at high E talent levels). The passive isn’t worth all that much on it, so it’s safe to keep it on refinement level 1 for Hu Tao.

Alternatively to Deathmatch, you can use Blackcliff Pole (also as a stat stick), but that one requires more effort to get a decent crit rate with (since your build starts out at a crit ratio of 5/143 before artifacts). If you’re going for a 4pc CW vape build (her most popular build) you can also build Dragon’s Bane on her. Despite the EM substat not being a popular DPS choice, the weapon pulls off very competitive damage and doesn’t require a battlepass or spending starglitter to get.

Simply , Dragonbane is better for reaction with the lose of crit rate
And Deathmatch is better for overall dps with the lose of some reaction.
For new player / Shimenawa’s artifact set user Deathmatch is better.
For Speedrunner / Crimson witch artifact set user Dragonbane is better.

Depends on the crit rate, if crit rate is good enough then dragonspine will do

deathmatch is more consistent, but blackcliff can put out more dmg, the choice is up to you

Blackcliff has crit dmg which is good for Xiao because of his crit rate.

Deathmatch R1 or Dragonspine Spear R5 for Rosaria?

  1. r3 blackcliff or r1 deathmatch for xiao

Have R3 blackcliff on him but you’ll like to switch to Deathmatch in bossfights. Blackcliff has crit damage as main scale which syncs with Xiao’s crit rate stat and a higher ATK bonus (even at first in your case) for example if you’re clearing a floor, you’ll kill at least 2 small mobs before reaching the first enemy which gives 36%ATK while Deathmatch only gives 24% or even 16% if there are still small enemies left. you’ll use deathmatch more on places like 11-3 and 12-3 but on any other floor, your blackcliff will outnumber your deathmatch

To those of you who are wondering how the Deathmatch performs in a parallel universe if it had high base attack and less crit: if your character is using Atk Sands, you will have higher DPS with a high base attack weapon even if it is sacrificing the secondary stat. Even if the secondary stat is crit rate, the higher base attack and how much it can draw from your Atk Sands will give you overall higher DPS regardless of having less crit.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that all weapons with high base attack are better. Some characters who don’t use Atk Sands (e.g. if they scale off of Hp, Def, etc) prefer weapons with low base attack because they can use the secondary stat more.

Just depends on the kit of your character.

Can we all send feedback or suggestions to remove the visual indicator of the passive being ON all the time? When we are out of combat it doesn’t need to show the passive indicator, most specially when in towns or cities.

Oh God this, I thought it was a bug, no other weapon shows this when its passive is constant.

I didn’t notice the crit rate boost of Deathmatch was higher than the other BP weapons(36 vs 27)

Thats because the base attack is lower than other bp weapon

Does the attk percentage apply to the weapon only? or the entire artifacts , weapon and talents.

atk% will always calculated based on the base atk only. additional atk% will only add up to the existing atk% stats you have instead of multiplying the effect.

for example: if your character have 20% atk increase, passive of deathmatch will add another 16% or 24% (depends on the situation of passive) which equal to total of 36% or 44% atk increase. reminder that this 36/44% atk increase will be calculated based on the characters base atk (characters base atk + weapon base atk). additional atk flat stats from artifacts does not add up into base atk including the feather,

Deathmatch doesn’t need any more base attack because of the ‘crit rate %’ it has and its passive. At R0 it gives a 16% boost on both ‘atk’ and ‘def’ if there are more than one enemy and a 24% ‘atk’ boost if less than one. And if you have a ‘crit dmg’ circlet, you’ll be dealing 9-20k dmg (If you’re using Xiao with Lvl8 skill 1)

I use this weapon for Zhongli and it destroys everyone. At low refine, it is bad, but at a high refinement, it can hit to 3k – 5k with normal attack, 6k E and 70k Q after the 1.3 update. The best option if you wish to build him as a sub dps as a resonable budget.

Which is better? Deathmatch R1 or Lithic Spear R0 (3 Liyue characters in team)?

        • CPM on 10 March 2021 at 7:45 am
        • Reply

I would say, without calculating anything, Deathmarch R1 is a bit better than lithic spear R0 with 3 liyue characters, The first one gives you 36% crit and 20% atk, while the other gives 9% crit and 50% atk. Even if lithic base atk is higher, one gives you 4 time crut the other and only 2/5 the atk the other give (and this is vs multiple enemies).

I have it calculated on an excel dude, this weapon is the best 4 star weapon for her. Only lithic spear is a bit better if you have all liyue characters in your party.

It has a higher crit rate and the passive gives more attack anyways. I understand base attack is better but honestly they did a good job balancing it

Doesn’t really need it. Sure it’d be nice, but it’s passive offsets it a bit.
