Item Story

This is a tale of sky-shaking valor.
Even the vile dragon brought into the world by a sinner of that ancient abyssal nation
Lost its dark, metallic wings to Anemo's pride and joy.

Long ago, the shadow dragon Durin terrorized Mondstadt, driven by jealousy for the city's glory.
Awoken from his sylvan slumber by the cries of Durin's victims,
The Anemo Archon came forth and summoned his faithful servant to his side.
For life and for freedom, the Archon and the Wind Dragon rode the wind to face their foe.

In a battle that ripped clouds from the skies, Dvalin spread his six blessed wings wide,
Severing the sky and tearing through Durin's iron scales with the force of a colossal blade.
As the conflict plunged the world into darkness, the Wind Dragon struck out with his claws, like swords forged of wind.
They pierced deep into Durin's dark, corrupt flesh.

The battle shook the heavens, even the sun quaked with fear.
Finally, Dvalin tore out Durin's throat with his teeth, and the evil dragon fell from the sky.
With his god's blessing, the Wind Dragon seized victory and saved the people of Mondstadt.
Yet Dvalin became poisoned by the tainted blood he had consumed, and corruption seeped into his bones.

Though a hero, Dvalin was forced to suffer in solitude, while the stench of corruption drew creatures of evil to his side.
Deceived by the Abyss, the Wind Dragon fell to evil, and Stormterror was born.
At last, his master returned to calm his frenzied mind and ease his pain.
His faithful friend and a new companion fought bravely to drive out the monsters and restore Dvalin's honor.

In the century while Dvalin slept, his image faded from Mondstadt's memory,
But in the tumultuous times of the recent past, the people bore witness to his six-winged figure once more.
Now, blessed by the Anemo Archon, serenaded by the songs of Barbatos,
Riding on the boundless winds, Dvalin takes to the skies once more.

I have two Skyward Pride and plan on maining Eula when she comes out, I don’t know who else I’d really wanna use the other one on so do you think I should refine one? I have an R5 Sacrifical Greatsword for anybody in the future who wants the ER anyway

if eula uses this weapon, do the vacuum blades from the elemental burst benefit from her phys damage bonus %?

no since weapon effects don’t count, only her kits

He was asking about vacuum blades dmg, not elemental burst stacks.
        Yes, they will.

Yeah they get effected by Phys bonus and Crit stats, so these vacuum waves with new Pale Flame set have a potential of hitting for 10k if not more per crit, which if you add that up it’s basically 80k extra damage from using your burst and then factor in that you’re also normal attacking to proc it as well.

This weapon is pretty insanely good right now for Razor/Xinyan when using Pale Flame, it’ll be great on Eula as well, possibly better than Broken Pines.

just did a bit of math and skyward pride will do 10k more dmg for each complete normal attack sequence, all non crit to simplify the math

does the vacuum blade passive help build up Eula’s Burst stacks?

does the “Increase All damage by x %” mean that stats like crit damage and phys % damage bonus or elemental damage bonus % are affected? I see they arent increased in the stat screen so im not sure how the multipliers or scaling works.

lets say you did all the math (crit dmg + dmgbonus% + any % ability or normal attack bonus) and your character hits something for 10k, you calculate the 8% of that 10k which equals 800 so you’re going to deal 10.800 total

basically when it says ALL DAMAGE it literally equals to:
normal, charged and plunging attacks bonus%
abilities/bursts and their damage over time if any
elemental reactions caused by the skyward pride user
8% elemental and physdmg bonus always active

“but am I supposed to calculate this before crit damage…? or after elemental damage bonus or how or when or who or what or why????”

the order of the calculations doesnt change the end result, but if you want to be 100% certain do it like this:
total atk * the talent multiplier% * crit dmg% * elemental or phys dmg bonus% + the 8% all damage bonus

example: diluc_gaming has a diluc with 2.000 total atk, 170% crit damage and 80% pyro damage bonus, he is running skyward pride (yeah just assume he has godroll artifacts) and the first cast of his E deals 150% of his atk (just assume ok?)

      total atk = 2000
first E cast deals 150% of his total atk as dmg
      the 150% of 2000 = 3000

he has 80% pyro dmg bonus, and 80% of 3000 = 2400 extra damage
      his first E cast deals 3000 + 2400 = 5400 total

but he did a crit, so its multiplied by 170%
      the 170% of 5400 = 9180 extra dmg
      so 5400 + 9180 = 14.580

but he has skyward pride! lucky! so…
      the 8% of 14.580 = 1166 extra dmg
      so 14580 + 1166 = 15746

FINAL DAMAGE 15746 (on a crit)

        Hi,

I have also been wondering how the calculation of ” all damage increases” buff work. And I have been thinking same as you that the All damage buff will literally apply on the final damage
But the result was not quite what I have been thinking. I tested with geo elemental reaction, which gives +15% all damage increase, but the final damage was about 10 to 11% damage bonus depends on how much other damage bonus option I have ( such as elemental damage buff, or other All damage increase buff )

one of the test I did was 735 damage without 15% all damage bonus, with the 15% bonus I did 815 damage. And looks the like the more elemental damage ( or physical damage ) I have, the lesser the “All damage increase” buff becomes.

anyway it was not quite flat “15%” damage bonus, I wish it was though lol

        This is incorrect.

Skyward Pride’s 8% stacks additively with other % damage bonuses, as do all % damage bonuses in Genshin.

The formula isn’t Pyro Dmg Bonus*Total Damage Bonus*Elemental Skill Dmg Bonus as your formula would indicate, these bonuses are stacked together additively then applied.

So in your example, the 8% would be added to the 80% pyro damage bonus for an 88% increase, which changes the final result to 15228, rather than multiplied as a separate variable.

This is also why Gamer’s testing results came up different to those suggested by your formula.

The advantage for Skyward Prides All Damage Bonus is that it works on both Physical & Elemental dmg coming from all types of sources (Basic Attacks, Bursts & Skills), unlike many other bonuses.

FWIW this is a very common mistake to make but can have some big impacts on the viability of certain builds, so it’s worth remembering.

A very undervalued weapon, people think that everything is attack, critical and it is, but there are several factors that balance this weapon, many think that it only works when activating the elemental burst, being that there are 2 skills in one, being this passive and the vacuum blades are active, also this weapon is ideal if you want to have sustained damage with Ulti, a Diluc, A Beidou will always have her Ulti, in the exact time of her CD with this weapon regardless of whether the field is affected by electro currents. obviously if you are looking for those 6 digits this is not the weapon. Thanks!

Depends on how you build her, If you build physical, then this weapon is the best at it. If you’re building cryo, then its still ok because of Eula’s high energy cost and the high base dmg also helps.
