Item Story

From the land of gold came a wanderer, his body and mind scarred by the touch of battle.
He was once a prince, but now, he was merely someone lost in a winding and deceptive verdant maze.
The ancient forest king, tasting the scent of blood that stems from authority, was unable to hold back a deep sigh...
Summons were sent, and a huntress bearing a moon-white bow came forth, tasked to hunt the trapped beast that had come from beyond the woods.

The sky was overcast, spreading like ink blots in the clouds. Death whispered through the wooded maze, groping for a path to follow.
Following the exile's footsteps, the curse spread across the desert sands to swallow the "living" lands.
Through jade hallways and pathways narrow, she discovered the intruder's intent from the strangeness of their scent...
Adrift between memory and ambition, however, the exile was lost amidst the discord of running water and birdsong...

"You have been struck with one of my arrows, insolent invader! The next shall find its path into your heart."
"No longer shall you loiter in the forest. No longer shall you disturb the dreams of the children. The crown you seek, you shall not find here!"

Thus did the hale huntress warn her prey, that none yet had ever evaded her arrows or her perspicacity.
Yet, for reasons unknown, she lowered her bow by a few inches and deliberately missed the addled man.
The greenery looked on, bewildered, and the dream-hidden children exhaled as blood went unspilled.
The slumbering forest king, blessed with insight that can pierce through all dreams, understood her intent and gave a thunderous murmur that caused even the greatest of trees to tremble:

"That mortal is not alike to you. He comes from a sordid land, and his hands are stained with blood, while his heart festers with delusions and madness."
"But the forest only keeps dreams wrought from naivete, and blood is only meant to be shed for the hunt or in sacrifice — in this there can be no deception."
"If you believe that he yet has the potential to reclaim his honor in the maze, then guide him to break off the pale branch..."
"Only then can the bright moon and the newborn stars grant him pure wisdom and help him shed his bitter memories and desires."

So, she again took hold of her pure-white bow and drove the exile, sending him fleeing into the depths of the maze...
The truth of what happened afterward was witnessed by the moon and the stars, and only dwells still in the dreams of children.
Some rumors say that the exiled noble finally used the pale branch to forge a blade that belonged to him and him alone,
While some children claim in their sleep that he forgot the name of his home, and of his dream to be king.
Regardless, Prince Faramarz's name vanished within the rainforest henceforth, returning to the desert on the back of sand carried by the wind.

  1. i usually don’t comment on these but this is just a joke

The extra EM scaling on his NA on this weapon should have been in his kit, since his whole kit scales on EM except his dendro infusions

Plus these crit rate and damage bonuses to compensate that awful dendro DMG ascension stat…

  2. Will this be good for Albedo compared to the Cinnabar spindle? It seems unlikely but we haven’t had a high crit dmg sword before so I’m curious.

    • Cinnabar was tailor-made for Albedo, I highly doubt this one will be better. Besides he doesn’t have elemental infusion and doesn’t need EM so the passive would be useless.

    • Currently Albedo’s best in slot is Jade cutter (it has been proven to beat cinnabar), so I guess this weapon will become Albedo’s new bis since it gives the same amount of crit value with main stat + the 8% crit rate. The other part of the passive is useless though Lmao, Jqde cutter’s too though so it’s fine.

        • This is demonstrably untrue, Jade cutter is ~11-21% worse than cinnabar spindle under the KQM standard. It should be fairly obvious to tell that PJC is much worse than spindle as the only thing PJC offers Albedo is 44% Crit Rate whereas spindle offers DEF% and DMG%. Bursting with Albedo in all of his relevant teams is a damage loss so the base attack and the attack bonus on PJC’s passive don’t matter.

You can think of it like this: PJC’s value can entirely be replaced by artifacts whereas Cinnabar Spindle will scale with your artifacts due to its passive.

    • Except Iron Sting doesn’t provide crit. Iron sting is fine on Keqing because she has free cr & cdm. Al-Haitham have none of those crit bonus.

  4. This sword is incredibly good for Alhaitham and no one else
the stat stick is nice but really only Alhaitham can use the boost on normal attacks and elemental skills based on EM

Only Keqing and like, On Field Vape C6 Bennett can really make use of it apart from Haitham

  5. idk how i feel about this weapon yes stats are nice but very low base atck and from what i have seen u want to run em sands on alhaitham so he will have very low atck.
maybe he dosent need atck atall but from what i have seen till now id say mistspliter is better for him.
can someone do some calcks i wanna know if this weapon is worth getting if i already have a mistspliter

    • I assume you would build him like so:
      EM/Atk/CR
Just ignore Dendro%, as you get it from ascending as well as from 2-pieces artifact’s effect.
The problem with this weapon is that it doesn’t look versatile at all… take Festering Desire as a comparison: how many sword characters rely on their Skill as the main source of dmg AND requires ER for the sake of their Burst? Now, how many sword characters can infuse their normal attacks AND rely on EM to buff their overall dmg?

        • Not at all better at least to how versitile misspliter and even jade cutter is. Not many have infusions and want EM and also hit often with skill. Keqing has infusion but her skill hits at best every ~5s with tf em but no buff on charged or burst. Ayaka is a heavy no cause em is pointless. Aside from that there is like infused benny which is meh ok but again missplitter is better because it buffs other parts such as burst.

    • The way the passive is activated really limits the amount of characters that can use it.
Alhaitham / Ayato (if u have EM lol) / Keqing.
It’ll probably see more use in the future but for now alhaitham and keqing are the only main competitors, unless you had an ayato build around reactions (which is questionable).
