Despite being considered auspicious beasts, there are nearly-forgotten legends of a suanni named "the mountain lord" attacking villages. The Wushou Dance was thought to have originated from a ritual to appease said being. However, since very few people have seen a suanni at all, the theory naturally cannot be verified.
