Baimidzhu and Kokopium “mains” must be in shambles right now because she pretty much does the same job as them with similar results but Charlotte is a 4* so easier to get cons on which improve your healing and ER. She will most likely be on Furina’s banner anyways which people will dump their wishes on so it’s a big plus! Dumb those old powercreeped characters and embrace the new Fontaine meta!
Ah yes I love using Charlotte to apply Dendro and increase Dendro reaction damage. My favorite part of Charlotte’s kit is the one where she heals using her elemental skill (without needing C6) and uses TTDS without it conflicting with her damage/heal scalings. It’s so nice that her healing is available without needing to constantly use your burst.
Even as someone who’s excited for Charlotte I can’t give her that much credit. And with a fresh wave of Freminet horror stories about pulling countless times just to get only 1 or 2 copies, I don’t think people are gonna be so optimistic about getting “easy” Charlotte duplicates. Even after getting C3 Lyney I only pulled Lynette TWICE. If she wasn’t free i’d be sitting at C1.

Your melt team dreams are still far away I’m afraid, please look into the difference of forward melt and reverse melt to save yourself the trouble of building a team that doesn’t work, forward melt and vaporize are purposely designed to not be spammable so if you pair her with a diluc or hu tao or god forbid dehya charlotte will do the majority of the melts while your on field carry can go f*^# themselves

How though? Lets assume Charlotte only has Standard ICD rather than a special one like HMC and Collei. She would apply cryo each time it ticks, to at least one enemy. It’s very likely that it is not with special ICD since the 5-mark cap means she can’t apply cryo twice in a row in the interval because it wouldn’t be 6 hits with the cap of 5 marked opponents.
Also, for slow pyro applicators like Diluc, she should be able to melt. And she could allow Dehya to forward melt as well since Dehya has standard ICD on burst and her skill hit rate is slower. I think she could enable a melt Yanfei since travel distance expends time, so the marked enemies would have cryo applied first before the fireball reaches.
In what actual universe are you calling diluc’s pyro app slow, and it has nothing to do with how fast her application is it’s due to forward melt and forward vaporize being purposely designed to not be spammable, you’d need an overwhelming amount of cryo to make forward melt do anything at all for a pyro carry, vaporize is the preferred method of buffing pyro characters for a reason and that reason isn’t “hydro fem boi op lets intentionally do 1.5x damage instead of 2x damage” it’s because forward melt is just simply infeasible, and like i said I didn’t even mean to make this comment it was a reply so idk why anyone even bothered to reply to it
Looks like she might apply cryo just enough to enable melt Diluc. Now pair with Kazuha, and my lovely C6 Kaeya, my Diluc will melt for a lot and have a healer. Maybe a burgeonmeltvape team with Furina, Charlotte, Diluc, and Nahida would be wacky, funny, and viable. You will either melt, vape, burgeon, freeze, and shatter. So many reactions going on at once.
Also, is that racist bias for an ascension passive? Now then, amuse me. That’s a pretty wild passive she has. She’s more on-guard with foreigners in party, but more at ease and healing with local Fontainians. Kinda sus

To me, Charlotte’s ICD is going to be the most important thing when it comes to her viability.
If her skill and burst have a seperate ICD and are both standard, then that would mean that Charlotte would have the best off-field, sustained, and AOE cyro application in the game. If she is paired with another character with off-field Cyro application (I am thinking mostly of Kaeya, Rosaria, or Ganyu) then a forward melt with a Pyro DPS *may be possible. I am thinking primarly of Diluc, Yan Fei, and perhaps most tantalisingly Dehya (who unlike the former two cannot effectively reverse-vaporize).
If this was the case this would make Charlotte the best 4* character from Fontaine in my opinion.
There is no way you will ever make Yanfei forward melt, because her A4 passive has no ICD. Which means that every crit of her charged attack applies 2 single pyro in short succession. This is also why it’s so hard to even reliably reverse vape with her.
I don’t understand why this comment section is on a crusade to make forward melt diluc function it just doesn’t work, what really isn’t helping him whatsoever is the fact that his pyro app is actually really strong he has multiple hits in his burst and a pyro infusion on his na’s alongside a 3 charge elemental skill, you could have 3 cryo characters and I would be genuinely shocked if you managed to maintain a cryo aura for all of diluc’s attacks (about the only way I could see it work is during like ayaka’s burst or smth)
Very funky kit, I appreciate another attack scaling healer but I’m struggling to find a team that would appreciate her cryo application as forward melt is a meme cause she would be doing most of the melts and freeze wants big dick damage characters like ayaka, not to mention her horrible down time against single target and boss content as you cant pick up ko’s to reduce her skill cooldown
Yeah she’s in a weird spot. It feels like Cryo (despite being a rather versatile and strong element) has just run out of ideas. Now they are throwing different roles together, resulting in some messy overlaps and missed opportunities. Freminet was kinda different, but his kit is overshadowed by Phys being in a bad place and Shatter being… Shatter.
Maybe if they hadn’t been consistently churning out Cryo Units all this time they would have time to brainstorm some more. I was kind of hoping Charlotte would be a dedicated Freeze Support. Increase Freeze Duration since they haven touched Mona’s C1, Lower Frozen enemy DEF, create a special freeze state that doesn’t allow for shatter ala Nilou preventing Hyperbloom/Burgeon, etc) Kinda tying in the whole “standing still for a photo” thing. Instead we get yet another defensive Cryo unit with seemingly iffy damage capabilities (no offense Layla, I still love using you).
Hoo boy I do enjoy my damaging healers. Looks like her numbers aren’t the strongest, but I wonder what a high-end build would look like? Also more 4* off-field Cryo that isn’t singletarget or circle impact, yay! My oathsworn has a proper home, and my Melt Dreams get a little closer to fruition (too bad I don’t really have a Pyro DPS that’s compatible with Melt, spare… Diluc who I don’t quite prefer, sadly). Dehya come home I have a new sucky team idea to try!

Oh I know the difference, i’d be running her with Sub DPS Ganyu or another offfield DPS to double up on the applications. Someone like HuTao would be completely doomed due to her lack of ICD on CA spams, but with Deyha’s standard ICD in burst form she’s at least got a chance with the Cryo duo, especially on enemies with huge hitboxes since Ganyu will be able to hit them more consistently. Of course melting every hit may be asking too much, but it’s not like my eventual Dehya would be my primary Pyro DPS choice, thats Lyney :3
It’s a shame that Fontaine’s better designs are relegated to mere 4-stars while terrible designs like Furina, Arlecchino, Lyney, etc are afforded the full 5-star treatment.
Lynette and Charlotte are the most attractive female characters of the new region, and they are likely to be entirely useless in terms of meta viability. Self-imposed challenge runs with sub-optimal characters isn’t an adequate solution to this issue, I’m afraid.

The real issue with Charlotte is just energy
In general, if you use it in the squad: Nevilet, Furina, Kazakh, she will be a wonderful healer who can give up millelite, and put on a set of a young virgin, to maximize her heal. And since she will heal the whole team, she is one of the best healers for squads with Furina.
Does maiden’s translate to young virgin? Also generally clam is a better set for healers so I’d recommend that, but ofc clam is paired with def set which (while I like it) isn’t good for anyone but Itto and his homies
