The whole world flocks to the commercial port of Liyue, much to the city's pride. With the tides of people also come exotic treasures. This map, detailing the various seas surrounding the continent, is complete with undercurrents, hidden reefs, and wind directions. It is said to be an exotic tome containing the knowledge, courage, and faith of pioneering explorers. The title page of this book reads as follows: "Love ye the sea breeze and the ocean currents, for it is the wind and water that carry the seafaring ones to their destination." "Fear ye all the more that same sea breeze and those same ocean currents, for unbridled wind and water can tear apart even an iron vessel." To woo the ocean and calm her temper, one must explore her every hidden reef, every prevailing wind, and every place which whales make their home. These words appear in the yellowing pages of countless seafarers' notebooks, like an ode of infatuation with their lover's body. In foreign lands, seasoned sailors refer to the ocean as their lover, and use female pronouns to address the cold, saline waters. Perhaps they do so because of the ocean's temperamentality, or its vast bosom. Or perhaps it is because they are drawn to the romance of sailing away on an adventure. Like the ocean, this chart answers to no master. Like the seafarers, it harbors the romantic dream of exploring every corner of the world. |

Yaes weapon will work as it specifically states its for the character wielding the weapon
do you think this will be a decent 4* alternative for yae?
i think that as of right now her best in slot weapon is going to be widsith, up till now this weapon has been balanced around the fact that there is no dps character that could utilise all 3 or its bonuses… but yae gets either 120% atk, 96% dmg bonus or 72% dmg bonus – and if you take into consideration that she ascends into CR, suddenly lost prayers loses most of its value, memory is just meh, because you dont want to autoattack as her (unless you want to see that adorable thing she does with her hand after charged attack.. yeah i think ill just go 4p wanderers just for that) and atlas is just meh…
if i were to order all of her weapons, i think it would be
the Widsith
memory of dust (staked and shielded and probably only without benet)
atlas
solar pearl
lost prayer
mappa mare
dodoco
the shop thing
sac frags
and the rest is just bad (although codex might be not-shit especially if it turns out she has energy issues because then you could just run her the same you would run baal)
Does the passive works even if the wielder isn’t on the field?
Most, if not all weapon’s passive doesn’t work when off-field, unless otherwise is stated.
So in this case, no.
does this mean even her own signature weapon won’t work if she’s off field? Her totems don’t snapshot.
would an r5 of this be better than prototype amber for a main dps kokomi? im thinking of using beidou Q with her, because i tested it with barbara and she gets both stacks right off the bat.
I, personally, would pick the Prototype Amber because it allows Kokomi to charge up her burst faster with its passive and the HP% scales better than the elemental damage bonus for her burst. Kokomi needs access to her burst faster because it’s her only source of high damage. It also gives additional healing which helps her as a healer as well. Of course, if you already have an r5 Mappa Mare, then its still a good option for main dps. It just doesn’t have as many benefits as the Prototype Amber.
I calced the numbers based on my talent 6-9-9 Kokomi at level 81 with maxed Heal Bonus and Hydro Bonus from artifacts. As long as I ran the numbers correctly, the HP% substat from level 90 Prototype Amber adds about 1777 damage to each NA while bursting. R5 Mappa Mare’s 32% Hydro Bonus takes Kokomi from 1.754x Hydro damage to 2.074x Hydro damage, an increase of 18.24%. But how much base damage per NA does Kokomi need to do in order for 18.24% increase to be more than 1777? That’d need to be 9872 damage per NA.
Kokomi’s NAs at level 6 have an average multiplier of 104.6%. My Kokomi has 1285 Atk (currently using Sacrificial Fragments), so that’s 1344 damage per NA. While bursting, this gets increased by 8.2% max HP from the burst, and then another 11.385% max HP from 75.9% Heal Bonus and Song of Pearls. With my Kokomi’s 27538 HP, that’s 5393 damage per NA from additional burst scaling, coming to a total of 6737 damage per NA while bursting. However, that’s before we apply the normal 1.754x Hydro damage multiplier, bringing Kokomi’s average NA to 11 817, give or take a little due to rounding differences. And guess what? That’s actually higher than the benchmark we set of 9872 damage per NA.
This means, at least for my Kokomi, R5 Mappa would give more damage than any rank of Prototype Amber, and that’s ignoring the additional damage from Mappa Mare’s EM being applied to Electrocharged. The gap increases if Kokomi has better artifacts with more HP%, because the flat increase from Prototype Amber would fall off more than the percent increase from additional Hydro Bonus. Even the base HP increase from a level 90 Kokomi doesn’t bring Prototype Amber up to the same level as level 81 Kokomi with R5 Mappa Mare.
