Item Story

This bow, crackling with thunder, retains its luster despite having been soaked in thick darkness.
When disaster came from a distant sea, it was once the favorite weapon of a great swordsman.

In his youth, he wandered the mountains, and he made a wager with a great Tengu he came across.
He gambled his young, strong body as a bet against a bow given by the Shogun.

As for the gamble itself, he could only sometimes recall it, when he was drunk.
But by the time dawn came, he had three wins and three loses — his contest with the Tengu was a draw.
So in the bad news, he was taken as a servant by the Tengu. But in the good news, he won that unmatched bow.

"Behold, Konbumaru, this is Tengu archery. Watch and learn!"
He was given this rather ridiculous nickname, but ultimately, he witnessed the Tengu.
Soaring through the cloud unfettered, unleashing thunderbolts with every bowstring's pulse...
It was a true, unreserved dance of death. Fierce and unpredictable, elegant and beautiful.

Many years later, he was no longer a servant boy, and he had grasped both some archery and swordsmanship.
He was referred to the Shogunate through a recommendation letter from his impatient master.
In the years under the Shogun, his martial skills improved greatly, and he made many friends and enemies.
Still, his hobby of unrestrained wanderlust had not changed. On the contrary, with the Tengu's great bow, he became yet more fearless.

"Let's make a wager this time, shall we? Hmm. Right, then. This bow shall be my wager."
"I bet on the mightiest bow in the world that I will return here alive."
"I'll leave it here with you for now. If I, Takamine, lose our bet, you can keep the bow."
"After all, you've inherited the essence of my archery techniques. You'll be able to make good use of it."
"But if I win..."

When disaster swept in from across the distant sea, the samurai and the obstinate shrine maiden had a mutual wager.
They bet on his safe return from the abyss against the inscribed bow bestowed by the Shogun.

When the dark venom sank deep into the earth and peace returned, the swordsman did not come back.
The Shogun's bestowed bow was given to the shrine maiden as her prize for winning their great wager.
Later, in the forest where the Kitsune Saiguu would no longer appear, in the promised meeting place,
The lone returnee who came stumbling back from the abyss finally met the shrine maiden again, though by now she could no longer be called young.
Dull eyes stained with dried blood and tears regained their radiance, but were pierced through by a barbed arrow glowing with power.

        Why?
Sure, C6 Childe charges his Burst really quick so you might miss out on one Sigil some times, but this definitely sounds like the BiS for Childe, no matter if C0 or C6

40% is only for normal attacks, so unless you’re using her as your main dps and keeping her on the field, im pretty sure harp with the higher base attack and crit rate and dmg subs would keep them pretty close in terms of damage.

It seems like this weapon will actually be a bit awkward to fully utilize on Yoi depending on your comp and energy generation. Her general rotation will be something like
E –> auto until E runs out –> Q –> swap to another character until E is back up
Her Q is only 60 cost which means it might end up being up very frequently, losing you the last and largest of the normal damage bonus. Depending on your team comp, it might already be charged by the time you swap back to her. I don’t think everyone should be looking at this weapon like it’s a permanent 40% normal damage increase.

That’s why you need to get the Shimenawa set for Yoi. It’s especially tailored for her. Also, while doing that, you need to avoid ER stat on your artifacts KEKW.

I swear, this girl’s situation is something else.

Uuugh I wish this weapon has the same passive mechanic as the sword counterpart (gain the 2nd seal after Burst instead of E). It will be way more simple. Just burst and enjoy the 40% damage increase for 10 seconds.
Childe & Fischl can greatly benefit from it plus you don’t have to rely on the new Inazuma artifact set in order to keep all the seals intact.
But nope, instead we will get this weapon which is (weirdly) tailored for Yoi but actually makes it more complicated, since you must pay attention to your E cooldown and your energy. Oh well, it is what it is.

You realize the current passive is better for Childe right ? The E activation makes it way easier for him to keep three stacks than a burst activation which he wouldn’t be able to keep all the time. Same for Fischl on a lesser extent. And keeping your energy at less than 100% is super easy to do, you just have to, you know, use your burst ? And if your energy is refilled long before your burst cooldown is over, then the problem is your energy recharge, not this weapon

“the problem is your energy recharge, not this weapon”

You said it. This weapon makes ER as a problematic stat. My Fischl and Childe have a good amount of ER. Why? because they NEED it. Childe has a great single damage burst and Fishcl’s burst resets Oz.
Also, in case you forget, E attacks create elemental particles.

This weapon lowkey forces you to re-farm your artifact set (gotta get rid of those “pesky” ER stat, right?), or farm the new Shimenawa set.

Lastly, especially for Fischl, her E has a very long cd, so there will be some down time before you can activate the 2nd seal again. That won’t be the case if the 2nd seal is burst oriented.

You just need enough ER to get your burst when your cooldown is over. Even if you want to spam your burst, it’s useless to have so much ER that your burst is filled before you can even cast it, it’s a dps loss. This bow doesn’t make ER a problem unless you have 150%+ ER, and your Childe and Fischl shouldn’t have 150% ER, they want dps stats . And even if your energy is full, you only lose one stack, you still have two. If you have so much ER that it becomes a problem, then you didn’t build your characters correctly

Im tellin ya this is basically Rust on steroids:
Rust: 510 base atk | 41.3% atk (lvl 90) | 40% increased normal atk dmg (passive) | -10% charged atk dmg
This bow: 608 base atk | 66.2% cdmg | 20% atk (lvl 90) | 40% increased normal atk dmg (max stacks)
    .
    Rust r5: 510 base atk | 41.3% atk (lvl 90) | 80% increased normal atk dmg (passive) | -10% charged atk dmg
    This bow r5: 608 base atk | 66.2% cdmg | 40% atk (lvl 90) | 80% increased normal atk dmg (max stacks)
    .
this bow obv. BiS for every normal atk spam bow user, but you can clearly see that it is rust on steroids, so personal opinion: if u are a budget player or are saving dem primos for other characters, or u just wanna be a bit nice to ur wallet, then rust is good enough

btw skyward is overestimated over amos, which has a higher dps for obvious reasons. if you build a good amout of rate, its much better (and you can also take advantage of charged attack bonus if you want), and even rust has higher dps for melee

Wrong, someone made a dps tierlist of all the bows on him, you can look it up yourself if you care for it. I think Amos ended up being about 2% higher in terms of dps than Skyward Harp.

Amos bow is better if you’re using charged attack and melee. if your only using melee skyward is way better

Harp is stronger IF you don’t do charged attacks, while Amos is stronger if you do charged attacks since that is what Amos is focused on. If your ratios are good enough that you don’t need the crit rate + damage from Harp then doing charged spam is much better.

Regardless this new bow is perfect for Childe as well, it has higher than artifact scaling Crit Damage while Harp has lower scaling than artifact Crit Rate, though it does have bonus Crit Damage. Unfortunately for Harp the bonus damage in the passive is physical, while this weapon just gives you more normal attack damage, which stacking on top of 4-piece hydro is a whopping 70% extra normal damage, and that’s only at R1 of this Bow. The requirements are so easily fulfilled that you don’t even need to think about it.
Pop burst on entry, press e, normal attack and boom you’re at full stacks in less than a second (the burst stack lasts indefinitely as long as you’re not 100% energy).

This weapon is designed more so for Yoimiya, but it will still be monstrous on Childe as well and will overtake Harp as his BiS.

This bow is very good for Childe (even better than Skyward Harp). Also, the next weapon banner should have Skyward Spine so it is very likely that the Yoimiya weapon banner will have either the Skyward Blade or Skyward Harp alongside this bow

Since we’ve never seen two 5* weapons of the same kind on the same banner and Pulse+Harp would simply be way too good, I’d say chances of Skyward Harp being on there as well are close to 0%. My only hope at this point is for them to maybe throw a claymore on there along with it, WGS would be not so bad imo… Just pls no Skyward Blade, that’s the only 5* weapon I’ve pulled so far lmao

If leaks are true and Skyward Spine is on Ayaka’s weapon banner, that means it’s the first time they put three skywards in a row, so it is very likely that Yoimiya’s weapon banner will have one of the two remaining, Skyward Harp or Skyward Blade. Now it’s true that they’ve never put two weapons of the same kind in the same banner, but remember with character banners, we thought there was a rule that the rate up 4 stars couldn’t be of the same element as the rate up 5 star, and yet they broke that rule with Hu tao’s banner, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they broke this rule too. Especially if Yoimiya is underwhelming like leakers say, Mihoyo might want to put her two best weapons alongside her to make her look stronger. (I wouldn’t mind if they put WGS tho… I need it as well)

            • Crits on 22 July 2021 at 2:54 am

I really hope we’ll get anything but the Blade 😀 Oh well, even if it is Skyward Blade, I think I’ll still pull and just pray for Pulse or something off-banner.

            • sheeeeesh on 24 July 2021 at 12:30 am

honestly I don’t think mihoyo will put yet another skyward weapon in the weapon banner for a while now.
why? check the previous weapon banners.
they already put every single skyward weapon in the recent 7 weapon banners (including this one)
I find it extremely dumb to put this series over a WGS which we haven’t seen in 8 banners or jade cutter (since 9 banners).
if you ask me, I think WGS has a very strong chance of being the other weapon since kazuha’s weapon banner had a sword and a catalyst, ayaka’s current weapon banner has another sword and a spear, yoimiya’s weapon banner would have a bow (obviously) and the only weapon type missing that we haven’t seen in a while would be a greatsword so what better than putting good old WGS.
(100% not begging mihoyo to put in WGS so I justify myself summoning on that banner lol)

they are all very close in damage. I was doing my own calculations comparing the two using my fischl’s stats (not sets) and everything was pointing towards Rust being better than I noticed I wasn’t including Pyro damage bonus so I decided to add 46.6 from it and they got extremely close like within 1000 damage and if I include skyward harp’s proc in the single hit. that bow got really close (in a single hit atleast)
my conclusion between the bows is that the more scaling you add before crit damage the better crit damage gets so if we use the 50% damage increase for normal/charge/plunging attacks it starts to favor the new bow so I think it’s a case of if you can afford it, it will eventually beat out Rust, but for maximizing damage this bow will end up outscaling when you got the perfect set and characters like both kazuha or Xiangling giving you bonus damage.

You must be lucky then. I am also BP and welkin and to this day i still don’t have any 4* weapon at R5. Just because you do doesn’t mean it’s easy. Also Rust R5 may be better in theory but the crit dmg main stat from thundering pulse makes it easier to build especially for characters like Childe or Fischl who don’t get Crit as they ascend

calculated with 66%. it’s not that much, cus u will have around 200+ Cdmg at lvl 90 in total. +40% attack dmg is way better buff than Cdmg in late game. if u interested in how i calculated: yoimiya lvl 90, weapon lvl 90, new set (+50% attack dmg), Crate artifact, +10% Crate from 4 artifacts, +20% Cdmg from 5 artifacts (+150 with Rust and +216 with this bow), and some attack rolls (+20%). literally the same damage (more attack% from rust will balance base attack difference (end attack in this way will be 2193 with rust and 2225 with this one)). and yes, burst will be better, but not that much better.

E lvl 10, Norm atk lvl 10, 4 full normal attack combos in 12 second rotation (762% dmg * 4).

Thundering Pulse R1 is only 5% stronger than Rust R5 in my calculation. But this is only considering yoimiya’s Norm attack damage. If we start calculating her Q, it will probably be around 10% since most of her damage comes from norm attack.

Skyward harp r1 is just trash looking at the numbers. The +norm attack % dmg increase is too OP if your character is focused on it for dealing damage.

Proof of calculation in the link. Nothing really difficult.

This just isn’t true. I did the math myself and r1 TP is somewhere between 18-25% better than R5 rust depending on your substats. No idea how to post that somewhere people can see but I’m very confident that Rust is much weaker than TP since Yoimiya has so much built in DMG Bonus especially if youre running fox set. That makes the CRD and ATK substats worth much more than just Normal Attack bonus.

I have got an R2 Amos bow for my childe. Is it worth trying to pulling for this bow. I have around 60 wishes saved.

Yes, this bow is way better, go for it unless you want one of the new inazuma characters

DON’T DO IT, either save it for char banners, or use it to get weapons for ur other chars (if u reallly want to roll on the weapon banner)

Will this at R1 be better than R3 Harp for dps Fischl?

Not sure if this bow is good for Fischl. The “casting E” seal only last for 10 secs. Fischl E cd is 25 secs. That’s 15 secs of downtime . Also, Fischl is a “battery” so you’ll gain energy really quick. Just some food for thought.

66% crit dmg, 20% attack damage with 600 base attack, and 40% damage increase. pretty sure that already outclasses harp. also, while your oz is up you get increased damage and when he is down you switch out to someone else. kinda like childe.

Just my opinion but if you switch her out then you’re not actually using the bow. Weapon banner is a high risk investment already so if I were you, I want the user to be on the field as often as possible. However, if you want the bow just for the stats alone then go ahead. The high base & crit dmg bonus are indeed enticing.

bruh dude, down time? literally every normal attack adds 5 sec of the stack. keep attacking and your seal will last forever.

That’s not how the bow works, read the passive again. Normal attacks give only one stack

That’s not how you gain the seals. I think you’re as confused as me a couple weeks back. Please refer to the previous page, I did ask about “how to gain seal with this bow” and the people there answered it nicely.

Isn’t resummon also considered a cast?

Tested Fischl with windbloom. Resummon Oz is a cast ang gives Fischl the buff so it should work with this bow as well

“casting Elemental skill” …was thinking for Childe but this would mean the Riptide procs will not refresh this stack as they are strictly elemental skill damage and not a cast of your skill. At the moment it looks like it will only be at 2 or 3 stacks for the first 10 seconds of skill and then drop down to 1 or 2 stacks, depending on burst energy, of course if I’m wrong and the riptide procs will count as a stack refresh it will be even better for Childe

With Childe, you rarely stay on him for more than 10 seconds anyway. He’ll always have the 3 stacks active

sadly no, take an example the 4/4 set effect of hearts of depth

This just proves that the elemental skill stack lasting 10 seconds is not a problem. If 4p heart of depth is BiS for him by far, then it’s easy to understand why this bow is good for Childe. Because why would you stay on his melee stance more than 10 seconds anyway ? The cooldown would be too long for rotations and your supports’ abilities will be over at this point.
