Item Story

They say that this long polearm was forged using materials that are not from this world.
The weapon has passed through the hands of many loyal yet unfortunate souls.
It has seen many a slaughter begin and end, and tasted many a foul beast's flesh and blood.

It is said that a person whose job was to exorcise evil once came to the great chasm of crystal sands.
There, they retrieved an ominous, aqua-colored crystal from its depths.
Then, they hired someone to forge it into a weapon, naming it "Calamity Queller."

"If disaster should befall, this shall surely be used to calm it."
The tribespeople who made their living in the craggy mountains were not partial to either boasts or critique.
But since there was no contract signed, and such words were of no cost, they accepted them all the same.

Later, the time came when the monstrous tides scaled the bedrock, turning the cinnabar-colored earth black.
The shield-wall of the Millelith and the dark forces clashed, and any stragglers were all slain.
Like a cold star amidst the gloom, Calamity Queller flashed this way and that at the heart of the maelstrom...

When, at last, the light of the setting sun split the mournful clouds, the dark sludge sunk back into the depths of the chasm.
The Calamity Queller was also lost, together with the Yaksha who wielded it — both returned to silence.
In times thereafter, those who wielded this spear would largely meet similar fates.
But there were people who would fight without requiring orders or protect people without taking any oaths.
For them, such a fate was hardly one to be lamented...

It is also said that this spear was once borrowed from someone.
And in a deserted, water-eroded cave, it would bear witness to a clash between intimate friends.

This is her signature weapon so yeah, absolutely. You might be new to the game so I’ll explain, every 5 star character gets a release with a signature 5 star weapon, this weapon is their best in slot (best in the game) for whatever role they were, initially, meant to be. For example : Hu Tao and “Staff Of Homa”; Ayaka and “Mistsplitter Reforged”; Kazuha and “Freedom Sworn”; etc.

      1. Sadly not for zhongli and albedo, their respective signature weapon is kinda trash and doesnt fit for their kit…

Albedo’s signature literally the BiS, he’s meant to be sub dps, and even mistsplitter r5 and jadecutter r5 r still weak compared to his signature weapon

Please don’t use it on hutao, I did some damage testing with calamity, pjws and Homa on her, the base attack only increases by 15%. The passive on Homa makes up for it plus you get actual substats on the weapon.

      Here’s my hutao stats
      71.7 cr
      162.2 cd
      4p shim, 10 – 10 – 8

      Raw damage
      6500 no stack pjws
      7157 full stacks pjws
      8229 stacks below 50 pjws

      7396 calamity one stack
      7503 calamity two stack
7636 calamity one stack below 50
8825 calamity full stack? below 50

      Adjusted for crit avrg
      6222 no stack
      6851 full stacks
      7877 stacks below 50

      6073 calamity one stack
      6161 calamity two stack
6271 calamity one stack below 50

I got r2 of calamity queller while pulling for PJWS for my c0 Xiao, should I keep pulling for PJWS or use calamity queller? If it’s only slightly worse than I would like to just save my pity but if it’s a significant difference I want to keep pulling…

If you used epitomized path, the next 5* is guaranteed to be PJWS.

Main benefit of PJWS is the crit rate, allowing you to use a cdmg circlet depending on your substat luck. If your crit ratio is fine as-is, then you don’t particularly need it. The higher base Atk and the extra refine on CQ will help close the gap.

If optimally spread out, the 44 CV from PJWS would increase your overall DPS by about 16-17%.
I believe R2 CQ’s other advantages would be around 14% depending on Xiao’s build. Which actually gets better the worse his artifacts are, or if he’s lower level, since the weapon would be contributing a larger proportion of his stats.

According to a weapon ranking done by Xiao mains it is his 3rd best weapon and the difference for R2 calamity queller and R1 PJWS is 15k if unstacked and 1k if pre-stacked. I think you should just save your primogems.

I think it is worth pulling for since it is a win win situation. You either get his weapon or another great weapon for him. The huge difference however is that you’ll need a lot of crit artifacts to make up for it but if you can solve that problem everything should be fine.

So, it seem like, other than shenhe, raiden and XL sukokomon can fully utilize this weapon passive based on how they work in team rotation. TLDR this weapon is, amazing on char who have interval between elemental skill and elemental burst casting for 6 sec or more

I’m scrolling the comment to see what people think about this weapon on xiangling, and most of them said no as xiangling burst snapshot and off field stack will be gone when you swap back to her.

You gain double stack off field, doesn’t state anywhere that stack gained off-field will be gone immediately after your character get back to on-field.

It’s doesnt even matter whether xiangling burst is snapshot as the buff last for 20s, snapshot is not the issue here. Just use gouba first then do your usual international team setup.

Will it become BIS? Idk, but based on surface stat and passive, it is one of the better weapon for her IF and only IF you can solve her ER issue

Do they really have to include that information to make the description even longer lol. It’s dead obvious that the buff’s gone once the character is back on field, or it doesnt make any sense. Also, u dont gain double the stack off field, each stack u gain has double the atk off field (and how u gonna gain a stack off field anyway?).

In short, usable spear for Xiangling, but not BiS, as other has stated.

If they can write novel for the clam artifact, I don’t see additional 1 line said “off-field buff will reset if user back to on-field”

It’s obvious to you, but not for me and apparently half of the commenter.

We’ll see, I’ll be back and edit this comment to praise you if the off-field buff indeed reset if user goes on-field.

I do see the confusion, so assuming the wording isn’t plain wrong, I believe there are a couple interpretations here.

1: “After using [Guoba], [Xiangling]’s ATK will increase every second up to 6 times by [3.2% at R1]. The accrued bonus is double while off field. At full stacks, she would have [19.2%] while on field, or [38.4%] while off field.”
If you use her Burst early, she would not have the full 6 stacks (19.2% Atk). She also can’t use her Burst while off field, so the effect doubling will never come into play. Similar case for Rosaria or Xiao.

2: “After using [Guoba], [Xiangling]’s ATK will increase every second up to 6 times by [3.2% at R1] if on field, or [6.4%] if off field, calculated individually. At full stacks, she could have anywhere between [19.2%] through [38.4%] depending on where she was at the moment each stack was gained.”
This would mean you could ‘cook’ the effect first by going off field for a bit, then Burst, but you’d have to swap off pretty quickly. As in, if you hit E, then run around on field for a few seconds, you lock yourself out of the maximum bonus, even if you then go off field for 6 more seconds, since you can’t gain any new stacks. You’d cap at like, 32% or 35.2% because some stacks were on-field ones. Similarly if you swap back on before 6s are up.

The Skill only stacks 6 times but the duration is 20 secs. Don’t look at the 20 secs as it supposed to stack 20 times, its the duration You have the buff for. Also at 6 stacks with her on the field the buff is 19.2% atk and when she is off the field it is 38.4% atk. (r1)

One major key that ppl are overlooking is her spears base is 741. Shenhe’s base is 300. 300+741 is 1041. Hoyo Set her up for you to literally stack Nothing But Atk on her lol shim/glad – atk, atk
