Item Story

The naginata of "Umigozen," the mighty warrior of Watatsumi. Its edge flows with the phosphorescence of the depths.
The way this person once made the navies of Narukami quail are well-recorded in the island's music.

The whalesong that the twin Watatsumi shrine maidens once sang followed the tide's flow into the dreams of the island's people.
All of Watatsumi's warriors pinned their hopes and will to fight upon their shoulders.
And they brandished their nagamaki like a white, flowing wave, and with a loud shout advanced upon the other islands.
Yet the glory of Omikami and that of his warriors were dimmed by the lightning's glow...
Mouun was consumed by a dark storm of crow feathers, and the great whale who sang with the sisters sank to the bottom of the sea.
The vassal ruler, determined as a child, the vanguard of their forces, vanished into a rift rent into the very earth itself.

"Umigozen" was lost to the waves, becoming a myth to the archipelago at large.
Some say that she dove alone into the press of tengu warriors to reclaim the bodies of her comrades, and was lost after a valiant last stand.
Others say that she hid thenceforth, steering her flagship into the Dark Sea at the borders of the world...
The only proof that she once sought to change the tides of the world is this still-sharp naginata.

As long as the seas are yet disturbed by the waves, so too might the memory of her song live on.
Legend even has it that the song yet echoes within seashells and the bellies of mighty whales at the bottom of the sea.

For a Team like: Ball + Xingqiu + Kujou Sara + Mona = 310 Energy capacity where Baal is using this Polearm at R5 we can get 74,4% increase Burst Damage.

R5 Wavebreaker vs R5 Catch on Xiangling. Which is better?

R5 Wavebreaker for sure. But comparing R5 Catch to R1 Wavebreaker, R5 Catch is better imo due to the 12% crit rate and usually, Xiangling teams don’t have very high burst costs except for Xiangling herself

obviously r5 wavebreaker (i believe r3 dmg wise is better enough), though the catch is free and has crit rate bonus and the wavebreaker is more likely harder to refine (pure luck) than getting the 5 star (worst case scenario you get two 5 star weapons already and still not getting r5 of this).

Unfortunately not because xiao’s ult is infusion, not burst damage like this one.

at r5 this weapon can give 48% brust dmg with a team with two 60 energy cost and one 80 energy cost and has a really high base attack
Hope this will be good on raiden while using this weapon on raiden we can throw electro dmg goblet instead of attack goblet and er for sands as usual but this weapon should be at least r4 to compete with the catch
Hope this weapon works on raiden

Can someone explain to me how the passive will work?
Does it mean everyone’s energy HAS TO BE FULL to maximize the passive? Or it just takes the total Energy Cost of the team?

It takes the total Energy cost of the entire team. For example, Bennett has 60, Xinqiu has 80, Chongyun has 40, and Kujou has 80. Adding them up will result as 60 +80 + 40 + 80 = 240 Energy in total. At R1, the Burst DMG boost is 0.12 X 240 = 28.8%

This is good for a 4-star, the base atk is even a bit higher than engulfing, you can simply makeup for the ER% by using ER sands instead of atk sands. I expect there will be video comparison test of this vs The Catch and Engulfing when 2.2 has been released. Although not entirely f2p it seems like R3 of this > R1 engulfing or on par but lets see, however this weapon will need a high cost burst team to utilized its full potential (well I think more on more high cost burst unit will be added to the game anyway). If this turns out to be good for raiden then my xiangling can have the catch.

Is this good for Raiden? Im planning on using this rather than the catch since I’m using er timepiece rather than atk.

I think it’s a nice replacement, maybe not better than The Catch at R1 but definitively comparable. Especially if you’re using an ER sands, you should be over 200 ER even without The Catch. Probably the best weapon choice if you want to keep your Catch for another character like Xiangling. As long as you keep Raiden over 200 ER you can go for this weapon no problem.
