Item Story

An ancient prototype pole weapon from Liyue's arsenal. The batch number has faded and no records exist to confirm the date of production.
The pole is made of black steel inlaid with gold. A lightning motif runs along the body, featuring streaks of lightning interspersed with stars. The addition of gold leaf gives it an exquisite finish.

By the time the monster threat was quelled, the remaining troops were few and far between, and each joined the civilian community where they were based. Though peace now prevailed, it sparked a martial arts renaissance that spread throughout the land.
Demand for all kinds of weaponry spiked, especially for superior quality items, and manufacturers could not keep pace. To find a solution, Yun Hui of the house of Yun met with master craftsman Han Wu and the two conducted intensive research behind closed doors.
By the time they emerged, both men's beards had grown by twelve inches. Their new weapon designs, "the prototypes," were finally ready to revolutionize weaponry manufacturing in Liyue. It was time to do away with the shackles of the past that plagued their craft.

The first pole built to the new specifications had a black-and-gold appearance. The spike at the tip was two inches longer than the previous standard. It was truly a deadly weapon, but one with a composed and commanding presence.
It was left to bask overnight in the moonlight. At the first light of dawn, the tip shone with the cold, piercing light of a star against the dim sky.

At this ethereal sight, Yun Hui's mind was flooded with memories of his father's glory, for his father's name made reference to the stars. Greatly moved, he decided to dedicate the weapon to his father's memory.
For this reason the weapon became known as "Starglitter" among later practitioners of the halberd arts in Liyue.

Raiden’s ultimate melee attacks are counted as ultimate as mentioned by Mihoyo. That is why her ultimate does not proc hits from Beidous’s ultimate. The passive of Starglitter won’t proc for Raiden during her ultimate.

Im curious, so does this weapon passive also affect her afterburst basic atk or no?

This could be good a “main dps” raiden f2p weapon. Since she can keep the passive up infinitely cuz of her skill cd, right? She also benefits from the energy recharge substat and it can work with her sword

If you want an overall weapon and play her as a character always on the field why not? You’re free to play her however you want.

But you’d probably just get the upcoming “The Catch” (F2P weapon ofc)
She will get everything she can need : Energy Recharge / %Burst DMG /crit rate on Burst DMG.

The reason why i’m recommending “The Catch” is because her Normal / Charged / Plunging Attacks are converted to Burst DMG during that phase. (this website doesn’t seem up-to-date regarding to that detail).

        3. Prototype Starglitter

or is this weapon better than The Catch?

          Depends on your playstyle.

The Catch will give a great boost to the Elemental Burst if you want to make some sort of Electro Nuke, but the overall DPS will be low because The Catch only benefits Burst damage.

Starglitter will be kind of broken on Raiden’s normal attack, because her Skill’s cooldown is shorter than the duration of Starglitter’s passive. That being said, Raiden’s normal attack is kind of weak, so the Starglitter boost will be less effective than usual.

Raiden’s new skill description : “During Musou Isshin, damage dealt by Raiden Shogun’s normal, charged and plunge attacks are counted as elemental burst dmg.” So, does that mean they count both as Normal Atk dmg and Elemental Burst dmg or only Elemental Burst dmg ? I wanted to give her the Prototype Starglitter so i could give the Catch to Xiangling, but if it’s the latter i’ll have no other choice than to give her the Catch.

The starting slash is the elemental burst damage. The sword counts as normal attacks.

Well the new description says the sword is elemental burst damage, so i don’t think they still count as normal atk… If Skyward Spine’s atk speed boost works, then this weapon should work too, but no one knows if Skyward Spine works sooo

This polearm’s passive won’t work with Raiden Shogun because it increases the normal and charged attacks of the base weapon, which is of course this polearm, and not Baal’s sword (which is her elemental burst). But the ER of this weapon would still be decent.

Would this weapon actually be good on Raiden ? She profits from the high ER it gives and she can also use the passive since her attacks during the Musou Isshin state (sorry if i spelled it wrong) seems to be counted as normal attacks and she needs to stay on field and attack to generate energy for her teammates

White Tassel probably will be better as f2p/low option, unless you have problems with charging her ult.

Well, it’s iffy. It depends on your artifacts, how much energy she will generate for herself, etc.
Overall Mona has similar passive and it don’t worth it to build her into high ER. I suppose Baal will be same and if you will be able to charge her in time without it, than you don’t need extra ER just for passive.

            • Bruh on 17 August 2021 at 10:46 am

You can look now in Baal’s page, her whole kit basically revolves around ER, so I think ER is better for her, but well we will need to wait until she comes out to really say something

      • Sarat on 25 July 2021 at 6:40 am

decent on her, since the idea of Baal kit is SubDPS+Battery. so, you want to build her with at least 200+ ER.
And she has to do some auto-attack to gain energy for a teammate as well. so, the weapon passive is not entirely useless.

Question, would this b good for a support Zhongli? The only polearms i have r the Skyward spine (which i use on Hu Tao), prototype starglitter n Dragonspine spear.

What i mainly want to build him as is a shield machine so i was thinking abt giving him the black tassel bcuz of the hp stat…

If I use this for hu tao, she can get ER to get her burst up faster, while in her E state, you’re gonna charge attack for the blood blossom, once you’re below 50% of your hp, you use your burst and heal right up and the again use your skill, does this sound good?

      • also Qiqi on 23 February 2021 at 10:44 am

      • Zucco on 25 January 2021 at 5:38 am
      • Reply

Not really. Hu Tao’s kit looks more like a main DPS kit rather than burst damage sub-DPS, so crit weapons should be much more useful than an ER weapon. Dragon’s Bane might be pretty great for a vaporize team as well. And Pike (despite the Phys DMG stat) has a super OP passive skill if you can get it to a high refinement rank. Prototype Starglitter, in comparison, seems pretty meh.

Also, keep in mind that Hu Tao (at least according to Honey Hunter) has a 16s CD on her E. So she is unable to get more than one stack from the Prototype’s passive.

Hu Tao has incredibly low Atk without her Skill and Burst. Her abilities give her Atk based off of her HP. Hu Tao is going to be similar to Childe in that they become hyper-powerful when they have their abilities up. You can call them “main DPS”, but they’re not like traditional main DPSs.

Looks pretty decent, actually. Though that might depend on how realistically close you can get to hitting the cap on the bonus attack based on her HP (Caps at 400% of her base attack). It has a higher base attack than most other 4* weapons, and the triggered effect is a damage bonus rather than an ATK bonus (which are going to be less effective for Hu Tao). The only potential upside or downside is that we don’t know how well she will generate energy, so we can’t tell if the ER will be wasted, particularly in a pyro resonance team.

if landing a blood blossom counts as an elem skill “activation” it would be.
if blood blossoms intermittent dmg is also given 8%, maybe its viable enough for a specific playstyle

Because his charged attack got changed to an upward thrust and his plunge attack is simply his plunge attack. So you don’t get the bonus from the passive while plunging. Now this is not anywhere near the better weapons for him.

      Look into black cliff instead

Still though, 16% dmg increase for normal and charged attacks is better than atk% increase. And 42% Energy Recharge is actually useful for Xiao so you get more frequent ults.

          • Zucco on 25 January 2021 at 5:26 am
          • Reply

Thing is, Xiao already gets a 95% DMG bonus during burst at rank 10, (77% at rank 6) on top of set bonuses and goblets of course. So an additional 16% DMG Bonus to normal and charged attacks only doesn’t look very impressive. At least not enough to justify using it instead of Blackcliff Pole, Deathmatch, or even Crescent Pike.

(The Phys DMG stat on Pike kinda goes to waste, but the passive skill is OP enough to make up for it if you have an r5 Pike. Seriously, an r5 Pike with 4-piece Gladiator and Atk% Goblet is likely to do close to as much damage OUTSIDE of bursts as a Prototype Starglitter would be able to do DURING bursts.)
