Item Story

Rumored to be a legendary polearm of Liyue.
The polearm features a dragon motif that runs from handle to tip.
It used to have a dragon-shaped wooden sheath,
but now it no longer needs to contain its might.
It shall pierce through anything that stands in its way.

It is said that when Kunwu forged this Pole, he used a dragon's spine for the haft and a dragon's claw for the tip.
Hence the weapon's body is unbreakable, while its tip is sharp beyond compare — and gleams with a dragon's malice.

There once was a dragon slayer of unimaginable strength and courage, who defied the ocean's wrath and fought fiercely against the monstrosities it harbored within.
Many years after the dragon slayer had disappeared without a trace, the hopeless sound of a dragon's cry could be still be heard resounding throughout the ocean.

The dragon slayer became an urban legend. In the end, both the legend and the dragon-slaying polearm were lost.
Freed at last from the shackles of its past, it displayed the full force of its ferocity once and for all, as if to mark the dragon's return to the ocean where it belonged.

Why is she holding Dragon’s Bane in her splash art?

cause dragon bane can be surprisingly good if you build yunjin as a counter sub dps at a f2p level. The passive dmg bonus can increase the high scaling on her max dmg counter by a decent chunk and the em to help her absorb more damage within her counter shield and other shield she makes. But tbh thats about it and I guess looks nice on her.

now we got Hu Tao, this weapon is really good on her if you don’t have the Homa

Hu Tao’s best strat is spamming charged attacks (even without C1), and this is the best weapon for this if you don’t have Homa.
Xingqiu ult + Hu Tao’s Witch of Flames + spam charged attacks, cancelling with jumps (if you don’t have C1). Perma vaporize (ult will proc vaporize too) = huge damage over 9 secs.

Pretty good weapon for support Xiangling. The damage bonus works when she’s out of the field, so Guoba and Pyronado will hit harder regardless

I think her burst will be good, if you focus on vaporize.

It’s also good for carry xiangling with a strong sub dps or even strong dps like childe. She will do most of the damage then while Childe provides the wet(or with Xingqiu and keep Xiangling on the field and occasionally switch out to bennett and swap back to provide some extra particles for her). Final character can be Chongyun to apply constant cryo while you keep spamming with Xiangling. All that EM will really come in handy then.

Seeing other 4 star polearms are kinda bad for hutao i wonder if this’ll be good?

I don’t think so since Hu Tao (aside from HP) needs high base ATK to maximize her Elemental Skill. If its a 4 star weapon I would suggest the Royal Spear since it gives HIGH base ATK as well as ATK% substat and the passive CRIT rate is good. Its also easy to get since its in paimons shop. I guess this polearm is fine to use on Hu Tao if you dont have any better alternatives

        bruh r u serious……………………..
hu tao does need high base ATK but u need over 40k HP to maximize the effect of E. I mean yes u get the natural disadvantage of a elemental mastery substat but its still better than ATK substat cuz ATK substat in any kind is entirely shit for hu tao. Even reconsider deathmatch cuz the skill on deathmatch is pretty much useless on hu tao too.
so if ur pairing hu tao with xingqiu (so far the probable choice) or in anyway u plan to use her to react with other elements this one is honestly the best, especially at higher refine levels.

Dragonsbane will be monstrous for Hu Tao if you will comp her in with Xingqiu. just give xingqiu a lavawalker’s set and you’re golden.. at refinement 4+ i thi9nk this is miles better than the deathmatch.. (if you bought the deathmatch before realizing this weapon is better like me. use it on zhongli if you have him)

3 star black tassel can work better because of 46% hp

Bruh, even with 454 base atk from dragon’s bane you will need around 40k hp to reach atk bonus cap from her E. Realistically speaking, with hp-pyro-cd artifacts, your hp will just be around 30k. High base atk isnt necessary if your artifacts can’t even reach out the max hp needed for the buff.

I want to say this nicely but damn you are stupid as hell. The royal spear…….not even the blackcliff pole, really. Anyways if you still can’t tell, for vaporize or reaction based hutao’s em is very good for her. Dragonsbane is 2nd best in slot behind homa because of the em it gives.

actually I think it’s good for her if play correctly. even with this base atk, you will still need 40k HP to get max effect with E lvl 8. If you pair her with xingqi, her vaporize doesnt consume the whole mark so you will has the bonus EM for melt and 20% dmg for her whole E.
She isn’t out yet so it’s still to know what fit her best

iron sing is for xingchiu , suport fire characters

compound bow is for fischl , c1 and thundershooter (electro resis set) x4

Going back to this 2+-month-old reply to add Kazuha to the Iron Sting usage debacle. Iron Sting is generally accepted as the F2P/4* Kazuha option since stacking EM means a higher elemental DMG buff for your party members.

            • Koneko on 16 July 2021 at 3:44 pm

Nobody use iron sting on kazuha, you wouldn’t be able to use your burst in a long time and all people who own him use fav or sac sword.
The swirls from kazuha ult does alot more dmg than just adding a bit more elemental dmg% on your dps character.

they released zhongli and Hutao both scaling with HP so I wouldnt be suprised if we would get a HP scaling claymore user in the future considering that the bell also buff all-dmg while having shield. but right now, it’s pretty much useless

            • XD on 27 April 2021 at 4:38 am

beidou´s E scale the absorption with HP, and her c4 is triger by take damage, isnt usless

C4 Beidou would rather be using something like Serpent Spine, and rarely have I ever seen anyone build her as a shield bot (Diona and even Noelle and Xinyan fit this role better). Honestly, I feel The Bell would be slightly better if the shield’s cooldown wasn’t the ridiculously long 45s for a mere 10s shield duration (15-20 seconds would be far more acceptable) AND gave a Zhongli-like DMG bonus that’d scale off max HP rather than a flat 12-24% DMG bonus.

false, its a weapon for xianling , suport c1 – c6 , use her in a hydro / pyro comp
childe mona even xingchiu is good. (hydro) diluc, amber XD klee benet hutao (pyro)
cuz the EM is high and “when enemy is wet you can do 35% more damage”, x2 of vaporized, and if you have only pyro is ok , c1 is -15% fire resis (hit by guoba) , and c6 is +15 pyro bonus (with xin ult Q)

Hu Tao can make use excellent of this weapon if you don’t have Homa, especially if ran with Xingqiu (which the vast majority of Hu Tao players will be doing to begin with). Currently running it on C0 Hu Tao with C6 Xingqiu, C0 Zhongli, and C6 Xiangling and they basically just shred most enemies in seconds even if my substats aren’t the best.

Widely considered the 2nd best option for vape Hu Tao and is similarly viable on vape Xiangling. For Hu Tao only Homa is better as jade spear takes time to stack up to full effect whereas Dragon’s Bane has max damage potential immediately.
