Item Story

The whole world flocks to the commercial port of Liyue, much to the city's pride.
With the tides of people also come exotic treasures.
This greatsword is expertly made with the finest materials. It is unique in that the edge closest to the wielder has been left dull.
The dull edge is said to have been used as the hilt, enabling the wielder to switch forms by constantly shifting hand positions in combat.

Though it is rarely acknowledged, this greatsword was in fact a foreign bladesmith's labor of love.
The bladesmith knew himself to be dull of wits, and was anxious that this blade should not follow suit. Hence, he worked painstakingly on sharpening and balancing his beloved blade.
Sparks flew as the bladesmith worked through many sleepless nights.
The sword was recast and re-tempered countless times.
All the while his mind was consumed with the hope of his lover's return, as well as his untold anxiety for her well-being.

"After the war is over..."
The bladesmith would ponder briefly, each time he paused for breath.
"Will this blade still be of use to her?"
"Will she even make it home safely?"
These thoughts would linger in his mind for but a moment before he cast them aside and refocused his full attention on the blade.
Indulging irresolvable anxieties was a futile endeavor — better to focus his faculties on creating the perfect welcome-home gift.

Finally, the day came when the triumphant expeditionary force entered the city gates, their monstrous foes defeated at last.
But the bladesmith had not had time to carve his lover's name onto the blade's body.
With no time to lose, he grabbed the sword and rushed to meet his lover on the occasion of her return.
Unfortunately, what would transpire next was to be an unbearable anticlimax.

As the warrior removed her helmet, long, soft hair flowed down. She was growing her hair out, and hence would never need to wield a blade again for the rest of her days.
Meanwhile, she had brought her lover a gift, too: A shiny new hunting bow.
"Romance is dead! I wasted all these years making you this greatsword, and now you don't even need it!"
The bladesmith was thoroughly miserable and would not stop complaining about the unfairness of it all. But his efforts had by no means been in vain — at least he had finally succeeded in making a blade of the very finest quality.

i farmed bosses until i got r5 Whiteblind, now it’s obsolete since i got the Stonethresher.

  1. How much difference there is between this weapon at R5 vs Serpent spine at R1/R2 ? is it really worth to R5 this weapon instead of using a R1/R2 Serpent spine for Itto? cuz i can do it if i want to but im not really sure if its worth it.

you don’t even need to R5 this weapon for Itto , you can if you want to and it will be helpfull but you don’t need to , and i don’t think the serpent spine is beter than this for itto , this gives 51% to def , and if you have it R1 it can give another 24 , but if you R5 it , you will get another 48 instead ,

On Itto, this claymore at R5 is better than wolf gravestone or unforged getting 48% ATK AND 99.7% DEF IN TOTAL, Insane stats. God bless the future Itto mains with claymore billets

But keep in mind Itto doesn’t gain much from ATK% since his base attack is so low. That’s still a lot of DEF though, which will be converted into a big flat ATK buff, but none of that is factored by ATK%. I’m looking at this and Serpent Spine. Crit and DMG are both good for Itto too.

Depens on the built. I have tested whiteblind and blackcliff whith 2 different builds for Itto. One with def crown and blackcliff, and the other with crit dmg crown and whiteblind, same artifacts beside crown. You can get more attack with blackcliff (R1) and a stable amount of def, but only if you defeat 3 enemies (so in terms of dmg per second, is lower), and def is quite low. Whiteblind (R1), on the other hand, gives you a bit less attack but a lot more defense with 4 normal attacks, wich goes well with Itto’s superlative superstrenght stacks, but requires Itto to be in combat a lot more, so quick rotation teams are not a option.

BUT if you are planing on farm the new artifact def set (wich have the same 4 piece effect as whiteblind), blackcliff is definitely a better option.

Dut to mine and discord calculations r5 whiteblind = r5 serpent spine. U need 5 month bp to get r5 serpent spine, so idk, whiteblind seems better. Moreover, itto’s passives are incresing his damage taken, and ss passive does the same – without zhongli u will die instantly without nice dodgeing. That one table from itto mains:

I think blackcliff is the closest to his 5 star red horn and over caping on DFF is not really good be U can get diminishing returns

You’re totally right. everyone drolls over this sword but if you have a well built noelle, it does less DPS than both they skyward pride and serpent spine (the latter being the real DPS king out of all claymores).

True, but Noelle is using 90% of her def, while itto is scaling it over 130%. Due to discord Itto Mains calculations r5 Whiteblind = r5 Serpent Spine on him

            • Joan on 4 January 2022 at 2:24 pm

Mmm Noelle C6 is 135% conversion at talent 13, you forget the last constellation adds other 50% to the conversion factor. Itto at lvl 13 is 122% def conversion

Not quite I’m afraid, very close and his dmg would range from 4%-15% better using r1 thresher over r5 full stacks whiteblind according to my calculations (very well built itto with gorou and zhongli supports + resonance). All dmg calculated in burst state. Do note that thresher would be better out of burst state for all normal and charged attacks. (Numbers will differ depending on supports, itto stats, enemy, etc)

Full normal attack sequence averages to 14.78% better
        Arataki Kesagiri combo attack: 10.06%
        Arataki Kesagiri final attack: 4.49%
        Saichimonji slash: 11.63%
(Under the assumption these are all considered normal/charged attacks, which is a fair assumption IMO given the way it’s worded + the weapon is tailored for itto)

        Akaushi burst! (His skill): -1.41%
(R5 whiteblind is better because this is not considered normal/charged)

Thresher has no conditions for it’s uptime on passive, so it better by – I’d estimate – 4%-10% than r5 whiteblind full stacks in a burst rotation (we don’t know how his optimal rotations so this is just a rough estimate).

Hope this helps, r5 whiteblind is comparable to r1 thresher but thresher is still better. Have a great day and good luck on your wishes!

Thresher has an insane 88% CDMG at level 90. That’s kind of hard to beat. Also Thresher has no wasted stats, while Whiteblind’s ATK% bonus is weak on Itto due to his low base.

I have skyward pride and white blinds.

skayward pride only gets 25K in the last hit, while whiteblind takes 30K damage in the last hit.
          both use ulti bannet

I think whiteblind BiS for noelle C6

            • Yuppe on 24 October 2021 at 5:48 pm

I have both and skyward pride not only is much easier to maintain, but also does more dps due to the procs. in a situation that skyward (mine’s r2 btw) does 33k, this will do like 36k. but skyward does an additional 8k from the proc, which brings it to 41k and clearly superior dps. then you add the fact that you don’t have to waste time building stacks before ulting and it’s a no-brainer.
also serpent spine just straight out out-dpses this even at R1.

5 stars don’t do as much damage at c6 for her (which is fairly easy because she’s the beginner wish character) bc shes going to turn roughly 150% of her defense into attack. There aren’t any 5 stars with a passive that’s better for her anyways, because the def% in the weapon’s passive is just gonna become more attack for her at a higher efficiency than any weapon that grants atk%. The main advantage of a 5 star is that it has higher base atk, which is only going to be better by default if that character scales strictly off of atk. For any hybrid character (xinyan, hu tao, albedo, etc) higher base attack isn’t going to do much.
