Item Story

One of the swords that the Shogun bestowed upon her Hatamoto. It is said that it can call upon the power of lightning itself to slice through the mountain mist and night fog.
It was once shattered into a thousand pieces. After being reforged, a hamon resembling flowing clouds was left on the blade.

As the folk song goes: "Arataki of the Front Gate, Iwakura the Successor, Kitain the Serpent, Takamine the Mistsplitter."
Thus do children who love martial arts list famous historical martial artists, and "Takamine the Mistsplitter" was the very same user of this sword.
This man once accompanied a member of the clergy, using the Mistsplitter to countless demons and Tatarigami.
He also learned archery from the Yougou Tengu, and passed that knowledge on to a person he loved.
However, Mistsplitter would have no successors, and now only exists within storybooks, artworks, and fairytales.

At the end of his life, he assumed the position of one of the Shogun's yoriki and fought against a dark army.

If he hadn't left his beloved bow to her as part of their wager, maybe things would've been different.
But real gamblers never regret, never care about "what ifs," and never feel remorse over "if onlys."
The foe flooded over like mist — and so he would just keep slashing away with that secret blade that could disperse the brumous night.
As long as his strikes were swift enough, he would pierce the dark night, and day would come again—

"Asase, our promise... No, say rather our great bet. I will not lose it, not for the world!"
"I shall return, and together with the bow that I'd wagered... I'll claim the future as my prize!"

Like a never-ending chain of lightning, he and Mistsplitter slew countless demons together.
Yet at the last, the sword was not as tenacious as the swordsman, and it gradually broke down.
And he became submerged in that thick dark mist...
In the end, only some of the blade's fragments were retrieved for reforging, such that it might inherit the Mistsplitter name.

As though holding onto a spider's thread hanging down in the dark, the samurai held the handle of his broken sword tightly.
Amidst the dark mist, he kept stubbornly reminding himself:
The result of our wager is still undecided. I must return to Asase's side...

3 ways to get passive :-
1)casting element burst and every character have …. will element burst (+ 8%)
2)less than 100% energy…. again every character have element burst and all of them need energy (+ 8%)
( may spoiler for a future character with no energy who knows ???)
      3) an infused normal attack dealing dmg……. here’s were thing get a lot complicated…………. The way to get this is by a) chongyun (passive) b) bennett (the forbidden C6) thats the easiet way to get it if you are asking from a “solo” albedo prospective. But, if u are asking as a sup dps then…… its a bit hard to Enable the last stack …. possible , but as of my knowledge , i dont know how to achieve his last stack as albedo……

BUT, for kazuha it would be so simple…. just your ability and then use Your infused attack.
One more thing, albedo is better of with his sword : HOD . Better give mistsplitter for other character

Only problem is you can’t (Not right now) get the full bonus of the sword UNLESS you have a character that can apply elemental infusions (Chongyun or C6 Bennett) and with the current traveler loadout (Anemo, Geo and Eletro) not many of these will have good reactions (No melt, reverse melt or vape) Anemo is probably the best for this sword bc right now electro reactions are kinda eh (Superconduct is nice I guess but with this sword it doesn’t help much) Geo is self explanatory it’s imo the worst reaction in the game as like half the Geo characters can give a shield anyway (Noelle has her own banner so unless your like >AR20 you probably have her)

its not hard to understand. I dont understand why you dont understand. She is seen in the cinematics with a sword, she pulls out a sword form her chest, is totally comprehensive why people thought that. Now its confirmed that she is a Polearm user, but still, its not dificult to understand why people thought that.

Well, if she was a sword user, she wouldn’t pull out the sword from her chest like it’s a skill

weapons with the Millennial Movement passives are even worse (Freedom-Sworn and Elegy for the End), but this weapon is up there as well

every patch we’re getting more characters and/or weapons with big walls of text in their kit, it’s funny and scary at the same time

Freedom-Sworn’s passive is really simple in practice. Just react twice (probably swirl with Kazuha) and now you have an Elemental DMG buff for all characters. Mistsplitter is complicated to maintain. You have to constantly be juggling energy, burst timing, and auto attacks with elemental infusion to maintain max stacks. But the damage potential is immense.
