Item Story

They say that when Liyue first arose, Rex Lapis once walked the land with a sword hewn from jade.
Despite the constant wear and tear of age, the jade edge, so bathed in blood, still retained a polished sheen as if brand-new.
The blood was washed away in the rain of a thousand years, yet the thoughts and grudges that gathered about it could not be so easily eliminated.

"Nephrite has the soul of the Bishui's gentle heart, and will in time cleanse itself of the remnant grudges within."
"But who will ease the agony that the jade itself feels for having become an instrument of slaughter?"

These words of a friend long-forgotten were both lament and sigh.
But the inexorable gears of destiny would drown out those compassionate words.

In the passing of many long years, many became mortal foes who once made merry together,
While those who betrayed one another or fought to the death would come to share a drink, their hatred dispelled.
So it was also with this precious sword, carved as it once was to be given as an expensive gift to a certain someone.
This jade too was once cut for love of peace and luxury.

When wine vessels are filled with blood, and when tender feelings are ripped asunder by cold ambition and reduced to dust on the wind,
Gifts ungiven and bonds unspoken will become sharp blades with which to cleave erstwhile friends.

yes, it’s not the best but Jade cutter can be used by every DPS sword character in the game.

In my honest opinion, it is the BiS for Ayaka, %wise it scales better than the new 5 star sword.

At least with my current Artefacts the ratio of her Crit% and CDmg% is: 65 (Blizzard Strayer Bonus and potential Cryo Resonance not included, so it’s probably always at 100%) / 253

In my opinion it’s worthless to go farther than 60% crit rate. If you’re already at the 50% crit rate you should focus on stacking up more crit damage. This sword would be a bad fit if you decide to go 4 piece blizzard strayer.

Have you done your math to say 60+% crit rate is worthless?? [50% crit rate w/ 200% crit dmg] pours the same amount of average dps as [100% crit rate w/ 100% crit dmg].

            • Pakemoonlight on 13 July 2021 at 1:30 pm

It’s more like common sense rather than math. He said +65% not 50% ( and maybe he talk about using blidzard set). Tou go 100% crt and CDM just dumb imo, always crit ≠ crit with high damage

            • Just wow on 3 August 2021 at 9:32 am

He’s saying with the blizzard set because in a freeze comp you’ll get an extra 40% crit rate from your artifact set. With cryo res you get another 15% so you’re over 100% crit rate. So next time read the whole thing before criticizing someone’s math.

It’d not bad at all, it gives him HP as they stated and lots of atk. A good way to optimize time in the abyss is having you characters making dmg when u switch to them…You can choose to heal 2.5k per second and hit 80k or heal 6k per second and hit 20k….

I think it’s “NOT” good for ayaka. 2 cryo user bonus & blidzart srtifact profide a lot of CritRate, do you need 100% Crit rate? definitely not. Main ATK too low for 5 star weapon, Remember ATK take big part with CRIT system.

Amazing on Jean, I’m constantly hitting 50k ult and 30k on elemental skill, they’re at level 9 and 8 respectively, and 170% crit dmg. The low base attack at level 90 isn’t as bad as people think it is. Jade Cutter is the definition of a stat stick

Bruh I use it on Kaeya and his normal atk increases a lot compared to prototype rancour. He deal normal atk 4800-5200 (my crit dmg is low I need to find crit dmg helm). I hope with crit dmg helm I can reach higher. My friend has kaeya deal 7k with blacksword. With prototype rancour physical dmg, he deals only 1800-3000. Jade cutter base atk is lower but the bonus atk made up for it!

I have to say that if you’re not aiming for a 1:2 ratio on either weapon, then the one that has the skewed ratio will be scuffed.

The Aquila Favonia was much further away from the 1:2 ratio than the Jade Cutter was. Yes overall the Aquila will have lower crit stats, but that’s not the point. Even if it has lower crit stats, the testing is no longer fair if you are not utilizing the stats in your possession optimally.

    Bro im Calculating This compare
    Blacksword R5 :
    Lvl 90 : 510
    Bonus dmg normal & charged 40% : 204
    Total = 714
    Jade cutter R1 :
    Lvl 90 : 542
Bonus damage from Hp 1.2% from 18.000 Hp : 216
    Total = 758

secondary stat 27.6% vs 44.1% crit rate
Still worth for 5* star weapon

so it’s based on your choice
    Black sword R5 :
    Add hp 100% from attack
    Jade primordial R1 :
increase Hp 20% for more damage bonus

This is great for all of the sword units honestly! 44% crit rate and extra attack power scaling by HP is fantastic.

Jean has a high base HP stat so her attack stat will scale comparably to something like favonius. Of course you’re trading physical attack % for exceedingly high crit stat, so it all depends on your sub stats on artifacts. The same logic goes for any other user.

Probably Bennett, since his healing scales with HP, meaning bigger (and faster) heals. Plus it being a 5* helps with the atk buff from his Q, since it’s only affected by base atk (character atk+weapon atk)

i wouldn’t say this sword is BiS for keqing. i main keqing and i had tested almost all kind of swords. i bet this primordial is still behind of r5 lion’s roar. also no one wants extra hp on dps. we need more damage output, not extra defensive stat

        • Aguy on 12 February 2021 at 10:16 pm
        • Reply

R5 Lion’s Roar and R1 Jade Cutter should be pretty close in damage output. I have both those weapons (at R5 and R1, respectively) and my final attack on my Keqing is about 50 higher with the Jade Cutter. Now I do have some hp substats that I would like to get rid of but my flower is only +12 and my Keqing is lvl 80 (not ascended). So they are fairly close on final attack.

At that point it’s 36% additional damage bonus vs 44% crit rate. What set you use and your artifact stats will determine which is better. Of course Lion’s Roars bonus is conditional and with refinements Jade Cutter will clearly be a lot better but it’s a 5 star so that’s to be expected.
