Item Story

The sky-piercing fang.
It once pierced the black-gold scales of the kingdom of the abyss,
and cut the throats of the sons of ancient sinners.

Mondstadt was once threatened by the shadow dragon Durin.
Its jealousy for Mondstadt's prosperity begot evil, poisoning the land.
In those dark days, Mondstadt was surrounded by monsters and barren lands.
Hearing the people's cry for help, the Anemo Archon descended and awoke Dvalin.
Dvalin rode the wind and soared up to the sky, fighting for all life.

Blessed by the Anemo Archon, Dvalin fought the shadow dragon.
Clouds broke, and the sky burned red as if the end of days was upon Mondstadt.
Eventually, Dvalin's blessed fangs pierced through the throat of Durin.
Durin fell, but Dvalin was poisoned by Durin's tainted blood.

Unable to bear the pain, Dvalin fell unconscious.
Even the most learned bards knew not where he slumbered.
Centuries passed, and Dvalin's sacrifice was all but forgotten by Mondstadt.
When Dvalin finally awoke, gone was his friend and the sound of his comforting lyre.
And the ones he once protected now cowered in fear at the sight of him.

Honor reclaimed, poison cleansed,
Ballads shall give back a people's forgotten memory.
A prayer, this sword is. May Dvalin's name be restored.

    Are people confused?

It has neither low base attack nor low ER. It is supposed to have these stats because it’s a Type 46 weapon, which means medium base attack and medium secondary stat. A 5-star Type 44 has low base attack with high secondary, and a Type 48 has high base attack and low secondary.

This shouldn’t be brand new information to anyone anymore.

Finally got a sword as a F2P from standard banner.

Sword is okay-ish? But P.Rancour (even R1) outperforms that sword.

That sword is good for characters like Keqing whom can easily spam her burst, is AA oriented, and with a non-physical build (that’s already a lot of conditions)

If that sword was like the other weapons of the skyward family (674 base ATK) it would be a good all-around sword. But for some fucking reason, it’s 608…

Even the incoming Kageuchi gives (slightly) better results!

Anyway, the only happy person here is my Bennet with is high Base Atk sword. Any other use, it’s not worth to level it.
Huge waste of components, time, and resin.

Conclusion: Just level up your Rancour or Kageuchi and you’ll have a solid main dps sword.

The sword passive is good, but the ER destroy him completely, comparing to others like Primordial Jade/Aquila Favonia

I cant find any character who can fully use this thing, that passive is just trash, synergy is fuck up this thing has ER which is mostly for support but that passive clearly for main dps, while most main dps has even better 4* weapon… Whoever design this thing must be dickhead.

The Movement SPD and ATK SPD in the passive remain at 10% with refinement levels even though in game the text is colored blue. If it worked as intended we would get 2.5% SPD with each bonus capping at 20% at refinement five. I truly hope this gets fixed.

Is this sword kinda nice for ayaka? Cause the more attack speed is good for her and helps reducing her Hyouka (e) Cooldown. Also she has an amazing burst and ER is probably good for her. And the entirely blue sword look also fits her look.

I use it on qiqi. 4pc noblesse, after burst, pretty good damage/heal. Plus ER is good for her 80 cost. I plan on using black sword for Ayaka with crit dmg circlet, maybe black cliff with crit rate instead, will have to see which is more effective.

With C1 Ayaka it’s a great option for the cooldown as you mentioned. With only C0 it’s just okay. 80 Energy to use her burst so the ER works for her, Crit Rate probably not needed if she’s on 4p Blizzard Strayer, but she’ll probably be running the new artifacts anyway, and more attack speed is always nice, especially on fast characters.

Apart from just throwing this on a Bennett in place of Festering Desire, Ayaka is probably the only character this is good on.

I agree with you. This sowrd could have a better sub status. But you must consider that, althoug there are another swords whit more energy recharge, this sword has the larger Atk among them. So, if you use it whit the Bennet its white Atk will increase and he will provide more Atk to another members as suport. Or am I wrong?

Damn it. The same thing happened to me. At least Bennett can use it and Jean can use the Festering desire instead. 🙁

Definitely the worst one-handed sword of all 5* swords and maybe even the worst 5* weapon in the game. Energy recharge is the most useless stat that can only be useful to a support character. But some 4* swords have more energy recharge and, for example, Bennett’s support can be used with the same success. And even a special ability in the form of inflicting additional damage in the amount of 20% of the attack is practically useless because always deals physical damage and does not convert to elemental damage (and do not forget that activating this ability also requires you to constantly use ult).

Does the bonus atk speed and mov speed afect other characters when u change? When i use Xiao after Jean E he seems to attack faster than before.
Maybe this is just my impresion, thats why i came to ask, maybe some of you have tested it.

No, it doesn’t. The buff (blue-ish glow) doesn’t transfer to other party members. Also, you only get the buff when using Elemental burst (Q) not Elemental Skill (E)

The Skypiercing Might works like Cresent Pike passive. To maximize this sword potential, you need to:
    -Physical build
    -Spamming burst
Keqing with physical build and electro resonance can brings out this sword full potential because her burst has 12 CD, same as this sword passive duration.

With a second electro in your team, you can literally spam burst with the amount of ER that the sword provides. But only 20% of Atk is kinda meh, you really want those refinements. 20 to 40% is a biiiiiiiiiiig difference (doubled Attacks with doubled DMG which also scale). Also, since the Keqings E converts her AA into electro, it won’t synergize well with Physical Build. Skyward Blade is more likely tailor-made for Ayaka + electro turret character (=Fischl) for superconduct.

Jade Cutter is still a better option for Keqing, I guess.

R5 Skyward Blade is godly with godroll Artefacts. On R1 its trash, but decent for bennet support. R5 will transform future Ayaka into a DPS Monster -> 40% additional Hits with Superconduct. But who will get R5 on this lul
