Requiring two different 40 resin bosses to ascend one character is actually disgusting. I’m super hype for Xiao and look forward to him but the resin-sink just to ascend him like a normal other character being double the cost is actually gross. I’m amazed they just let this slide tbh.
No way this is gonna be xiao and hu tao’s ascension mats at final release. Think about it, this boss is in liyue, and there’s a quest to unlock the boss(possibly on high ar), what about players at low adv rank that pulled xiao and hu tao? Also don’t the boss got hp scaling as high as a weekly boss?
No I think it makes sense. I doubt they’ll make the quest high AR. Plus Mihoyo has already confirmed that these will be his ascension materials- not to mention sponsored genshin creators have told us too. But who knows? 🙂 Guess we’ll find out for sure Feb 2nd
When did they confirm it as his ascension mats? In the 1.3 preview they didnt show any of his mats. They showed off this boss fight but not his mats. I’m still hoping they just made this change to test out on Xiao and before the release revert back to hurricane seeds since the Visharp doesn’t have an ameno infusion from the preview but does have pyro.
What sucks about them making this Xiao’s ascension mats is that on day one of his banner, you can’t even really use him effectively at higher WL because you’re gated by how many Juvenile Jade you have to ascend him right off the bat. I mean, if you spend a ton of resin that day then you can do it but it’s wack that they’re doing this instead of letting us just use Hurricane Seeds. At least by the time Hu Tao comes out there will be enough time to have a good stack of them for her, but I hope adding new bosses with new ascension mats isn’t going to become too frequent of a thing with upcoming characters. Would rather them just let us farm the existing elemental bosses for them.
sucks that we can no longer farm for his mats to drop everything on him once his banner is out. ugh
I wonder what he does drop except this mat, I don’t see Mihoyo making a boss who don’t drop shard, maybe random shard ? This would suck. Maybe dropping one type of shard every day (like domains) this would be way better since you could focus the right day.
So they just created new ascension mats while still need anemo crystal. Then what’s the use of anemo butterfly now? Resin x2. I’m already suffering farming gladiator which keep dropping def and hp…
So we need a bunch of these to Ascend both Xiao and Hu Tao.
And how do they exactly plan us to farm the mat when the boss is supposedly a weekly one?
Like, wouldn’t that mean that we can only get like around 2-6 per week therefore unable to ascend either one beyond the first ascension for that week?
Any clarification would be appreciated
