About Zhongli | ||||

About Ganyu | ||||
Liyue's prosperity has not merely been built on Rex Lapis' oracles or wisdom. It is also thanks to the countless servants of the Geo Archon who have honored their end of the contract. She is the most impious of the Qixing — but I actually find the conviction of such people quite endearing. Character Details | |
In Liyue's traditional customs, "receiving adepti" and "sending adepti off" are equally important. The Hus of the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, who have been in this business for 77 generations, are the masters of handling funerals. However, Hu Tao, the current owner of Wangsheng Funeral Parlor, primarily focuses on the art of sending mortals on their way. For the various ceremonies for sending adepti off, Hu Tao usually employs the help of a friend in more or less the same business. That person's name is Zhongli. The adepti have been with Liyue for millennia, but only a handful have ascended in the past three thousand years, which means that everything regarding the traditions now only exists in texts. This is not something one would likely witness twice in their entire lifetime. Not even the most particular and learned of researchers or scholars could find one fault in Wangsheng Funeral Parlor's ceremonies for sending adepti off. Everything must be perfect, from the costumes, the time, the place, the items, the weather, the scheduled length, the size of the permitted audience, to the stature, profession, and age of said audience. Nothing can be overlooked. When folk describe Zhongli as "living history," the latter usually only smiles and sighs. "I... just have a good memory." |

In Liyue, if a person pays great attention to details, and has insuperable criteria by which they judge certain matters, then they are called "particular." In truth, everyone is "particular" about something. Some people hate spicy food, others don't eat fish, and some want their tofu served sweet... But as for Zhongli, he is particular about everything. He attends operas performed by only the most celebrated stars, takes only the most luxuriant thrushes out for walks, and he goes into the kitchen personally to instruct the cooks as to the ratio of shrimp and fish required to make the most authentic Fullmoon Egg. Zhongli has expertise in all manner of things, from fashion to daily essentials, to fine wines and delicacies, to teas and spices, and to flora and fauna. He is also more than capable of participating in discussions on commerce, politics, and international relations. But on a typical day, all you will glean from him is a few pieces of useless trivia, because he particularly enjoys sharing these fun tidbits with you. |

When making a purchase, look to haggle. This is a common understanding among the people of Liyue. No matter what high heavens the store owner praises their product to, no matter its ancient history or classical value, prices are always flexible. Half the stated cost is a good place to start. But when Zhongli pays up (or rather, calls for someone else to pay up on his behalf), he never looks at the price tag. As long as it catches his eye, Zhongli will pay as much as the owner asks. Indeed, he will even buy it at a premium sometimes. But for some reason, Zhongli always forgets to bring money. For small purchases, he has friends to help him out, and large bills he somehow finds ways to have written off. To those merchants who secretly pride themselves on their powers of flattery, Zhongli is a man of strange proclivities: in truth, he knows a great deal about the value of money and finance, and he also understands the suffering of the people. However, he seems to not understand that poverty is part of the human condition. Or perhaps it might be said that he cannot imagine himself being poor. How has such a person not died of hunger yet? |
Character Story 3 | |
Unlock Condition | Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4 |
There is no way Zhongli can starve. Such concerns as profit and loss are beneath his notice. The Seven Nations and the world itself are where his efforts are directed. As for wealth... He is wealth itself. He is Morax, the overlord Rex Lapis who rules Liyue, and the Geo Archon of the Seven Archons. The very money that circulates throughout Teyvat, Mora, is named after him. When night falls and bustling Liyue begins to slumber, he will sometimes stand atop the towering mountains and gaze upon this city, which he made with his own hands. To the people of Liyue, Rex Lapis has many divine titles. When he laid down Liyue's laws by his divine might, he was the God of Contracts. When he minted the first Mora and made Liyue strong by dint of commerce, the merchants revered him as the God of Commerce. He has lived through countless years and is the eldest of the Seven, and so historians call him the God of History. Thousands of years ago, the forebears of the citizens of Liyue Harbor struck stones together to start fires and used piled stones to create stoves. These blessings derived from the Geo element led the Geo Archon to gain the title of God of the Stove. People from other lands tend to call him Morax, though the people of Liyue prefer to use the term Rex Lapis. But in the hearts of lovers of opera and children, Morax's on-stage aspect, the all-conquering defender of Liyue — the Warrior God — is the most fascinating. The delicacies that Rex Lapis discovered while lost in the streets, the plaques inscribed with his handwriting, a famous opera that he once starred in, playing the part of a warrior... Many stories and tales of Liyue are, when studied closely, stories of people visited by their deity at some point — and the citizens of Liyue are most proud indeed of that history. |
Character Story 4 | |
Unlock Condition | Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 5 |
As the founder of Liyue Harbor, "contracts" are the most important thing to Morax. From simple monetary exchange and agreements between merchants to the ancient laws that Morax himself laid down, there is no part of city life untouched by "contracts." To merchants, "contracts" are the most important standard to which they hold themselves: deadlines, invoices, shipping destinations... Only a refined and strict order can sustain vibrant commerce, which is itself the lifeblood of Liyue Harbor. Thus the Qixing punish violators of such laws unceasingly, not only to uphold the divine rulings of Morax but also to allow Liyue to maintain its vitality. Through the millennia, every generation of the Liyue Qixing commits to interpreting the law, including subtle amendments to plug loopholes found in the law. Any loopholes that remain undiscovered are seen by the merchants as "permissible if unaddressed," and they make killings off such holes until they are discovered and patched up by the Liyue Qixing. Amid this game of cat-and-mouse, the book that collates such amendments has reached a whopping 279 pages thick. The person currently responsible for maintaining this book, the Tianquan Ningguang, is secretly (and humorously) referred to as the "Tailor of Liyue," in honor of her speed in patching these laws up, and for her sharpness of eye. But no matter how complicated or tangled mortal laws become, one of these stands above all others in the eyes of Rex Lapis. "The one who reneges on their words shall suffer the Wrath of the Rock." |

Unlock Condition | Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 6 |
Rex Lapis, most ancient of The Seven, has lived far too long. Rex Lapis still remembers that moment when the final archon took their divine seat, thus ending the Archon War and the era of warring gods. The Seven were a diverse lot and dispersed far and wide, but they all shouldered the burden of guiding humanity. As time passed, many of The Seven's titles changed hands, and only two remain of the first Seven: Rex Lapis and the Anemo Archon. The carefree Barbatos, the Anemo Archon, is the second eldest of The Seven. When Barbatos first came to Liyue, Rex Lapis believed his fellow archon to have encountered some terrible crisis in pursuit of their duties, thus requiring his aid. So when Barbatos descended in a gust of wind, the Geo Archon had already prepared himself to receive this neighboring deity and lend what help he may. But as he looked, the Anemo Archon tossed a wine bottle at him. "Here's some wine from Mondstadt. Care for a taste?" To forsake one's duty to deliver a single bottle of wine — what a preposterous notion! Yet the Anemo Archon kept coming to visit, to explore Liyue Harbor, all sorts of strange questions on his lips. The Anemo Archon's questions knew as little limits as the wine in his hands. From then on, the first Seven would often gather in Liyue. Rex Lapis still remembers how those wines tasted. The world has changed much since then, and all that was once familiar has faded into memory. The seven seats changed and again were changed, till five of the seven at the table were all departed. Nor would the duty of guiding humanity be honored by the new archons. Even the hardest rocks may be worn down after three thousand years. Nor would the wind ever return again. One drizzly day, the ancient ruler was strolling about Liyue Harbor, and overheard a merchant telling one of his workers, "You've finished your duties, go ahead and call it a day." Long did he stand amidst the milling crowd. "Have I... already finished my duties?" |

Unlock Condition | Unlocks at Friendship Lv. 4 |
During the Archon Wars, every corner of Teyvat was consumed in the fires of conflict. Not only did gods fight amongst themselves, but countless wicked things also sought to expand their domains. One such type of creature caused no end of woe for the Geo Archon, long before he took that title along with his place among The Seven. These foul creatures, straight from the murky depths of the ocean abyss, had a squishy exterior, and possessed agile tentacles that would live on even after being cut off, even secreting some thick and revolting fluid in the process. This alone would have been enough to make them the most monstrous of all creatures, and still it was not the pinnacle of their monstrosity. What made them so truly terrible was their small size, which gave them the ability to duck into unimaginably small nooks and crannies. No space was too narrow for them, neither the wooden boards of tables and chairs, nor the seams of windows and doors and curtain folds, nor even books and brushes. Many a poor soul had, on at least one occasion, unwittingly outstretched their hand, only to quickly retract it in horror with a blood-curdling scream at the sensation of something cold, clammy and damp, while one or more of these despicable creatures came crawling up their arm, leaving a shiny trail behind them... At the behest of the people of Liyue, Morax agreed to wipe these creatures out. But these parasites upon civilization could not be destroyed like enemies on a battlefield, by simply summoning a storm of stone spears that would shatter the earth and churn the soil.... Still, he was the God of Contracts. His word had to be his bond. So, he went through the town from house to house with prisons of stone, seizing these creatures one by one and locking them away for good... This long campaign of pest extermination taught Morax the true meaning of "a burden lifted." The grueling campaign itself, and the terrible smell of those ocean creatures' secretions, left a lasting impression on the deity. Today, even when he goes out incognito as the mortal man, Zhongli, Morax gives those living, squirming seafood products a wide berth. ...Well, except for dishes where said seafood products have been sliced and diced into oblivion, such as seafood tofu. He'll quite happily eat those. |

Once the Rite of Parting, of which Zhongli was both director and star, was over, the Fatui Harbinger named Signora appeared before him. By prior contract, she was here to claim the Geo Archon Morax's Gnosis. Before the Traveler and the two Fatui Harbingers, Zhongli related the truth that he had established a contract with the Cryo Archon. In his own words, this was his final "Contract to End All Contracts." Yet no matter how one looks at it, the loss of his divine ability to defend Liyue was too great a price to pay. Even amongst mortals, the basis of a contract is "equivalent exchange." And for the God of Contracts, who must have established countless such agreements in his long years of existence, such an important contract must have come with its benefits. Now, the Geo Archon has given away his Gnosis as his part of the deal. What, then, must the Cryo Archon have wagered to balance the scales? |

where did his voice lines go? 😭😭
thought this was zhongli’s page, not kazuha’s page
thank goodness i never take care of meta slaves
zhongly is the most comfortable unit in this game, if you want to play without taking care too much of enemies
if you feel cool and manly by dodging good for you, i persoanlly hate to be knocked back (and it’s forbidden with xiao, if you have him), and he also freezes enemies with his meteor
ofc sometimes he can increase your abyss clearing time, but if you’re not obsessed to this quite alarming level, you can pick him always and forever
For real, name me another character that is able to change your account and playstyle that drastically. Imo he is the biggest comfort character someone can have for their account
For chill player accounts easily one of the best characters that you can have, if not the character that would be the biggest upgrade for your account. The shield basicallymakes you invincible if you focus completely on hp and he doesn’t need constellations as well, plus, you get a pretty nice damage for every character, he is pretty universell and you can slap him on almost every team. Basically Bennett but easier to build and use.
You can also run several different sets, like the petra def shred set or millilith as support, but also dps sets, because his ult hurts a lot.
If you are all focused on perfect rotations etc.then Zhongli won’t be as effective, however, this game doesn’t need that, the only place where you are remotely close to that is floor 12 spiral abyss and with Zhongli it becomes much easier as well
So all in all, if you are just a chill player and wants a really good character, Zhongli is arguably the best upgrade that you can have
I love sitting on his pillar
I really hate seeing Zhongli in coop. 90% of them are trash because no C2 and they bring nothing to the team except more HP for enemies.
The world doesn’t revolved around you
“The world doesn’t revolved around you”
yep people who bring c0 shieldbot Zhongli into a coop should definitely keep this in mind
Anytime I’m in co-op and someone wants to use their Zhongli, I just pick one of my healers. Easy win. The world doesn’t revolve around any of us, so we’re better off adjusting our own tactics to deal with the situations we find ourselves in.
“Zhongli overrated”
“Zhongli going down in the meta”
“Zhongli killer enemies and bosses will show how trash he is”
“Diona>Zhongli”
19th March today, both Abyss halves on Floor 12 have shield bypassing damage dealers in the form of Rifthounds, Vishaps and the Wolflord and Zhongli has 93.6% usage rate still.
THIS
The only reason Zhong li got “Sales” was because he was with Ganyu. Ganyu carried Zhong li’s sales. Everyone knows Ganyu is the most sought after dps. Her dps is the strongest in the game. Zhong li is just diona but with bad element and without heals at c0.
But I respect your opinion. I was just saying what majority knows.
That is cute and all. But that would be irrelevant once Kazuha and Ayaka comes.
LMAO dude, poor Zhongli. It was widely known already for months and months ago he’s a DPS loss, he was a comfy pick for people that haven’t invested properly in their units but as time goes on and people get more and more hyper investment this Geo Archon will fall more and more into the abyss until his inevitable irrelevance.
You were cool Zhong, but it is time to sleep 50 meters down the Earth, see ya dude, from Hero to Zero.
wdym i pulled Zhongli after 500days with genshin and he was best addition to abyss team i ever had.
200 cd 40k hp and geo goblet
can do high dmg, thicc shield and ayaka wreck rest.
Worst Archon. Only get him if you are too casual or play with Melt Borinyu, Xiao, Memitto or Laughguang.
I agree bro, to be honest ALL archons are shit. Join the Abyss Order.
Kinda? They each take a part of the game away to make it easier
Venti with CC
Zhongli with dodging (for MOST things)
Raiden with Energy
If this trend continues then yeah, I’ll never get an archon again (Besides Bennett which I have C6 of)
zhongli wanters will be zhongli havers
If you use Geo or Physical party, he’s really good support because of 20% Resistance Shred from his shield and 20% damage buff and 20% Geo Shred from Geo resonace. If you use other element party, Kazuha will be better because of EM based elemental damage buff and viridescent venerer. You can always use both if you have them for easy 60% Elemental resistance shred. Also, if you have confidence in your dodging skill, just build him as Sub DPS.
F2P here, just write my experience with ZL.
I have ZL since first release maybe around AR 30+-. the reason I pull him while he is bad at release is because I collecting Archons so I don’t care of anything they say about him, my only DPS at those time is Razor with *3 Skyrider Greatsword that carry me till I pull Ganyu ( but I still need him for beating Andrius/Cryo immunity).
Turn out after that he get major buff.
now I’m AR 58.
I have him as Burst Spammer and Shidler/Support.
with 31k HP, 78% crit rate, 130 crit dmg, 146 er. 75% geo dmg
weapon? Favonius lance r4
artifact is Millelith 4 piece ( I have Eula, so I farm for her set but Zhongli got the most of it)
All content/event is EZ play with him.. what about new enemy with corrosion damage? err we have Sweet Madame remember? and isn’t like I will not put a healer (bennet) because I have ZL on team.
for abyss from floor 9- 11 is walk in the park, because I can ignore everything so I can rush to kill the enemy faster (arrow, mist cloud, ect that need you to avoid or turn around is skippable except bubble thing)
floor 12 is where I need extra work to get full star.
I skip a lot of character as F2P
I dont have Klee, Childe, Xiao, Hutao, Albedo, Ayaka, Kazuha, Kokomi, Ito, Shenhe.
my 5* weapon is skyward harp and unforged, those for getting scammed around 25k primos on Grasscutter’s banner.. more like Primoscutter’s for me… dark times almost quit if not for the fact that my friend have shittier account than me even after spending money. thanksmy friend….
update..
I really want the amos bow for my ganyu,.. spend the hard earned 18k primos from skipping ito and shenhe.
…
yep.. I got the primos vanquisher polearm and skyward spine.
there is no turning back now… lets move on.
its such a waste to not using the hard earned 5* weapon, so I give the skyward spine to Mei, she fit okay with it. crit rate and normal speed bonuses work with her burst.
the problem is the vortex vanquisher… its not fit the shielder build.
So I swap few zongli artifact and push his atk to 2,1k…
his HP goes down a lot, Idk if his shield will be hard enough to block all damage like he used to be with 35k HP.
in the end he have 25k hp, 73% cr, 151% cd, 105 er and 75% geo dmg.. set is still 4 millelith.
will see how he perform in the next abyss…
update..
no cant do.. zhongli need hp minimum of 35k or 40+k for the best.. reactivate his shield when it broken is wasting time., it just 2 sec of switching but the 2 sec is equal to 80k of my ganyu melt. man.. homa still the best for him.
thank god I got amos after few last straw pull… gonna reach 100k now
LeL, each time i see fellow f2p players rolling on weapon banner i just drop a tear, but i don’t know is it tears of joy or sadness.
That banner literally has description which you can READ before pulling, but if you pulled on it after reading it … well you deserve it.
Zhongli was the reason I started playing this game, since June 2021. When I first saw him I thought “So hot, where can I get him?” When I just started the game. And now here is his rerun. I have all his materials prepared, and a bunch of fates. I believe that I can overcome this 50/50 and hit that 0.6 chance.
Pro tip for new players: do NOT pull for Zhongli if you want to do well in the abyss. You need damage and more damage to get stars, Zhongli contributes very little. You will get faster clears with any half-decent subdps instead. And if you really need a shield, Diona is enough and she fits in better teams than Zhongli – since most of the meta dps are cryo.
New players need a great 5* dps to clear the abyss, pro players need more dps to get 36*, nobody ever needs Zhongli: SKIP.
ok tenten
Imagine creating havoc for free.. some cn ppl literally getting paid by mihoyo’s rival to create havoc kekw
Are you unaware that less dodging, 20% rainbow resistance shred, 2 second petrification = more overall DPS …??
diona? better subdps than zhongli? zhongli contributes less than diona? what are you smoking cuz it needs to be taken away. and diona has been kicked out of freeze teams, if thats what youre referring to. best freeze team is now ayaka kazu/ganyu shenhe kokomi. ganyu kazu mona(r5 prototype amber) rosaria for people who dont have ayaka/shenhe
i think you are stuck in pre-2.0 where traditional morgana was still the best. get updated with the current meta
Never said that Diona was meta. But you know who is even less meta? Zhongli. Notice that you never tried to defend him. He wasn’t kicked out of meta teams, cos he was never on them. So don’t bash the superior shield character who can battery Ayaka/Eula/Ganyu for more team dps. Not everyone is a dumb whale rolling on all 5* characters, the point is that there is no need to ever roll for ZL because Diona is better.
And Mona > Kokopium, now and forever.
i guess i have to update for you, sigh. current meta teams include:
– ayaka morgana/ganyu morgana
– raiden national (raiden, xl, xq, ben)
– childe international (childe, xl, kazu, ben)
– hutao vape (hutao, xq, zhong, albedo)
thats really all there is. and yes, between diona and zhongli, diona is better in morgana, but tell me: who said to use zhongli in morgana? there are more meta teams than you think there are
wait, won’t zhongli and albedo’s geo ruin reactions for hu tao??
None of these teams are meta, except perhaps Raiden national if you only consider C0 5* teams.
Hutao double geo isn’t meta, it isn’t even Hutao’s best team.
Have you ever considered facetank? Cuz Diona can’t do that well unlike Zhongli bro
Dude you really hav to fix your mindset cuz if you just pull for dps who will support the dps to gain dmg? Besides why are you still considering zhongli isn’t meta when he have 93% usage rate and 2 rerun banners?
That is just wrong, Zhonglis usage in spiralabyss is still very high in April 2022, you don’t even have to worry about floor 9-11, especially when you have a character like Zhonglo for your team, floor 12 is also easier with one Zhongli and who cares whether one character might be weaker than others in floor 12? You are “loosing” a few primos, oh no… anyway
Also, you said new players need a good 5 star, guess what, Zhongli makes basicallyof the content extremely easy, because his shield makes you invincible and you won’t have problems with any boss or enemy in general forever, he is one of the biggest upgrades you can have for your account if you just play to chill
Most boring and overrated character ever. Wasting your precious primo for a dull shield bot. Itto the best dps ever should replace Zhongli as the numero uno Geo Archon
Geo is a copium element.

Why are ya guy saying zhongli bad? Each people have different view and love different character
Imagine telling kid to stop eating candy because it is not good. Some love zhongli and some don’t even care meta, so let them be whatever they want, let them experience every team combo then they will know if zhongli is suitable for them or not.
So pls, stop talking about kazuha. And wish zhongli simps get what you want, his banner is coming home
Thank you!
Zhongli bashers: Zhongli is bad! Zhongli is outdated! Zhongli is for bad players only! Zhongli is out in the meta! Zhongli is worse than Itto! Zhongli is getting irrelevant! Also Zhongli bashers when they look at spiral abyss usage rate and see that Zhongli is still sitting at a whopping 92.11% usage rate: *surprised pikachu face

Why is there a spam of kazuha on zl comments. It’s so cringe. “ONG KAZUHA>ZL, KZUHA BEST SUPORT. I have the biggest brain cz I Stan kazuha the best support in genshin. Can’t let anyone enjoy other supprt characters cz of KAZUHAA BEST SUPPORT.” Stfu. No one fucking asked or cares. And yes kazuha is S+ unit, I do have kazuha 900+em and c1, will get his c2 on rerun but why u guys on zl comment section screeching about kazuha. There are teams that do not use elemental reaction and so kazuha would not be good support, for example xiao team. Also, zl provides interruption resistance=more dps. Zl burst petrifies enemies which is especially valuable with moving/flying enemies. I don’t have zl but my brother does and when I played with zl on his account, i found a drastic change in the quality of the abyss gameplay. That’s when I knew zl brought a lot of value not only in shielding but cc, low burst cost, interruption res. etc. I’m xiao main and so it’s so weird to see kazuha comments like as if non reactionary teams doesn’t exist in the game.
Kazuha is, as a matter of fact, the best support. This, unlike yours, is not a rant.
nah he pretty much mediocre unit overall. he swirls and buffs dmg. sucrose does the same shit with better buffs .
Up to 40% elemental dmg boost, 40% shred, double swirls, suction
Sure your Sucrose is better, I won’t stop you from playing doll with her lmao
Oh, and he is also more fun, so that is a W for non-meta players.
kazuha can’t buff melt/vaporize damage well like sucrose (ex. sucrose can highly buff hutao melt/vaporize, but kazuha does less)
sucrose can’t buff mono-cryo/pyro/electro/hydro damage well like kazuha (ex. kazuha can highly buff ayaka raw cryo dmg in morgana, but sucrose does less)
kazuha: 4p vv + elemental dmg bonus = better raw damage
sucrose: 4p vv + elemental mastery bonus = better reaction damage
point is: kazuha =/= sucrose
they’re both damage buffers, but for different situations.
They do overlap pretty well, Kazuha’s C2 and Surcrose’s C6 both are a worse version of the others main skill (assuming they are both at 1000 EM Kazuha gives 40% Elemental% while Sucrose only gives 20% and Surcrose gives 250 EM (Assuming you swirl your main DPS’s element) while Kazuha only gives 200, They CAN be used it the same situations but it’s almost always better to use the other
Kazuha is great IF you don’t have Venti or Sucrose C6. If you do, SKIP Kazuha and pull for a meta dps instead.
Hah I am gonna use him with Yae and Ei
My babes need some protection lmao
