Yoohoo Art: Fuuin Dash
#The special technique of the Yoohoo Ninja Arts!
Sayu curls up into a rolling Fuufuu Windwheel and smashes into opponents at high speed, dealing Anemo DMG. When the duration ends, she unleashes a Fuufuu Whirlwind Kick, dealing AoE Anemo DMG.
Press
Enters the Fuufuu Windwheel state, rolling forward a short distance before using the Fuufuu Whirlwind Kick.
Hold
Rolls about continuously in the Fuufuu Windwheel state, increasing Sayu's resistance to interruption while within that state.
During this time, Sayu can control the direction of her roll, and can use the skill again to end her Windwheel state early and unleash a stronger version of the Fuufuu Whirlwind Kick.
The Hold version of this skill can trigger Elemental Absorption.
This skill has a maximum duration of 10s and enters CD once its effects end. The longer Sayu remains in her Windwheel state, the longer the CD.
Elemental Absorption
If Sayu comes into contact with Hydro/Pyro/Cryo/Electro while in her Windwheel state, she will deal additional elemental DMG of that type.
Elemental Absorption may only occur once per use of this skill.
Sayu can pull this skill off with her eyes closed. This technique was originally created for escaping, but now that she's got a Vision, might as well make her foes eat dirt while she's at it.

Yoohoo Art: Mujina Flurry
The other super special technique of the Yoohoo Ninja Arts! It summons a pair of helping hands for Sayu.
Deals Anemo DMG to nearby opponents and heals all nearby party members. The amount of HP restored is based on Sayu's ATK. This skill then summons a Muji-Muji Daruma.
Muji-Muji Daruma
At specific intervals, the Daruma will take one of several actions based on the situation around it:
• If the HP of nearby characters is above 70%, it will attack a nearby opponent, dealing Anemo DMG.
• If there are active characters with 70% or less HP nearby, it will heal the active character with the lowest percentage HP left. If there are no opponents nearby, it will heal active characters nearby even if they have 70% HP or more.
People who don't know the first thing about ninjutsu love to watch Sayu show off this skill, and some have tried to learn it from her. But Sayu just wants to sleep and not be disturbed.

About Sayu: Skiving
So I don't do any important work at the Shuumatsuban, and anything that gets put off for long enough ends up getting done by someone who's more suited to it anyway. Sleep, on the other hand — that is of the utmost importance. Because I need to get enough sleep to make sure I get my growth spurt.

He's got a Vision, and yet for some reason he pesters me about learning ninjutsu every time I run into him. I don't know what his deal is. It's not like I'd have the time to teach him anyway, I barely get enough sleep as it is.

About Yoimiya
Every time she sees me she says, "Hey, little tanuki! Let's go hang out at the festival." Firstly, I'm not a tanuki. Secondly, I don't wanna go to a festival. Thirdly, she says she wants to hang out — but really, she just wants me to do a ninjutsu performance during the fireworks show. That's not even related to my work for the Shuumatsuban!

Character Details
Most Inazumans are unaware of the existence of the Shuumatsuban. In fact, the Shuumatsuban is a secret organization under the Yashiro Commission.

There is also a little ninja who goes by the name of Sayu in the Shuumatsuban, and this fact is even less known.

Sayu is a special existence in the Shuumatsuban. She has been raised in the Shuumatsuban since she was a child, and is extremely loyal to the organization.

That said, her most prominent trait is not "loyalty", but "laziness."

Lazing around is what Sayu does best. She has long mastered the various arts of ninjutsu, particularly those that help her to slack off or shirk her duties, such as escape techniques and aura concealment.

People who don't know about her habits will have to make a lot of effort to find her.

However, if you ask Sayu about her slacking, she will shrug and reply, "It's not that I'm lazy, I just want to spend my time on more meaningful things."
Character Story 1
Unlock ConditionUnlocks at Friendship Lv. 2
Sayu is petite and can even be described as delicate.

This is also something that bothers her —

One by one, her peers are growing taller, but she still has the stature of a child, as her height has not changed at all.

Sayu is really anxious about this matter.

Day by day, the world seems to be sprouting skyward, and only she remains small as ever.

Growing taller has gradually become an obsession in Sayu's mind.

"As long as I sleep long enough, I can definitely grow taller!"

She came to believe this ever so firmly, seizing every opportunity to sleep as much as possible, creating every opportunity and circumstance, even when there were none.

People around little Sayu often let her be, as they don't have the heart to disturb her sleep.

So now, the situation has progressed such that Sayu is able to fall asleep, even whilst standing.
Character Story 2
Unlock ConditionUnlocks at Friendship Lv. 3
The ninjutsu that Sayu has learned is not very powerful in combat, but it is quite useful in the matter of slacking off.

She is extremely skilled at hiding and covering her tracks, and is an expert in this area. Therefore, if she has the intention to hide, ordinary people absolutely cannot find her.

However, even the most ingenious puzzles have answers, and even the most elusive treasures have clues for people to find them. This also holds true for Sayu.

After spending enough time with Sayu, one will understand her habits and preferences. Trying to find her doesn't seem so difficult anymore.

For example, if you go to Sayu's room early in the morning and lift the covers, the odds are that you will find her in bed.

At noon, you can check out the trees near the shrine and who knows, you may find something unexpected.

It will be more challenging to find Sayu at night, but it's a good idea to go to her house and wait for her to emerge.

However, please remember not to disturb Sayu, who is busy growing taller, unless it is absolutely necessary.

Even gentle rabbits bite when provoked, let alone Sayu...
Character Story 3
Unlock ConditionUnlocks at Friendship Lv. 4
That said, finding Sayu doesn't mean that she can be put to work quietly.

Moreover, Sayu's work at the Shuumatsuban is not that of a fixed daily routine, but missions that pop up if and as needed.

And so, this happens:

When new missions are assigned, you won't see hide or tail of her.

By the time she has been found (and with much effort), a more suitable person has been assigned for the mission.

And in case there is no other suitable candidate other than Sayu, all the more she will try to slip away, so as not to be overwhelmed by the mission.

It's just that... If Sayu used her ninjutsu to work hard, she would have had great accomplishments in the Shuumatsuban.
Character Story 4
Unlock ConditionUnlocks at Friendship Lv. 5
Sayu is the last successor to the Ninjutsu Art — Yoohoo Art.

In this school of ninjutsu, which is known for teasing its enemies, Sayu has learned only ninjutsu such as escape and clone techniques.

These ninjutsu are of little use in actual combat, but have an undeniable aesthetic flair.

Amongst falling leaves, a silhouette vanishes in a flash, a gentle breeze blows, and a kite suddenly appears on the ground... The incredible scene is comparable to an artistic performance.

Thus, whenever there is a festival, Sayu will be invited by various parties to perform her mysterious ninjutsu.

If it's Yoimiya who's searching for her, Sayu can still find ways to hide.

But if the person in question is Lady Guuji Yae, resistance is futile for Sayu.

Clone techniques do nothing to fool the Lady Guuji's sharp eyes, and aura concealment doesn't help Sayu at all in escaping from the Lady Guuji's grasp.

Running for the hills is even less feasible, and might even risk angering the Lady Guuji...

Fortunately, there are very few circumstances that require Lady Guuji Yae to make a personal appearance.
Character Story 5
Unlock ConditionUnlocks at Friendship Lv. 6
For as long as Sayu can remember, she has been studying ninjutsu with her sensei in the Shuumatsuban.

Although the Shuumatsuban is a clandestine organization, the elders are very kind and have taken good care of young Sayu.

"Being overly reliant on others is never a good thing for a ninja."

After Sayu had reached a bottleneck in learning ninjutsu, her sensei observed her situation and thought thusly.

As the years passed, Sayu grew steadily. Once she was capable enough to defend herself, her sensei chose to leave quietly.

A young animal that leaves the protection of its parents will grow up rapidly. The same is true of the sensei's expectations for Sayu.

The young ninja did not disappoint her sensei. Soon after, Sayu obtained a Vision.

And then, she started working diligently in the Shuumatsuban... diligently shirking her duties.

Sayu is always busy sleeping and hiding from people, so in that sense, she also has a lot to do.

Occasionally, when Sayu is free and alone to enjoy the moonlight, she feels lost deep inside.

The people who have always been with you will one day leave...is this how life is meant to be?

But perhaps someday in the future, I will also meet the person who will always be with me.

Pondering the matter, the little ninja fell asleep again...
Mini Mujina
Unlock ConditionUnlocks at Friendship Lv. 4
Sayu's outfit is said to be a gift from her sensei.

The style references the form of a small animal — the "mujina," and Sayu's favorite colors were also specially chosen for it.

It is light and flexible, thus making it suitable for a ninja.

Sayu is especially fond of the huge hood, as it brings about a sense of security.

The long tail is designed for Sayu to maintain balance on the branches.

As for the only drawback... this outfit probably looks too much like a tanuki, and Sayu often gets misunderstood because of it.

Initially, she would seriously explain to the other party that:

"I'm not a tanuki, I'm Sayu."

However, over time, similar incidents have occurred too many times, and Sayu now bears a grudge against tanuki.

Nowadays, if such a situation happens again, Sayu will pout in anger.

So, in order to get along well with Sayu, please memorize the following:

Sayu is not a tanuki, but Sayu.

Her outfit is also not that of a tanuki's, but a mini mujina.
Vision
Unlock ConditionUnlocks at Friendship Lv. 6
This is the story of Sayu when she just started being on her own.

Fragile beings walking alone in this world inevitably find themselves in scary situations. The only way to understand what it's like is to have experienced it.

This is exactly what happened to Sayu. Adept at observation and evasion, she has always understood that she is not suitable for combat.

Her overly petite stature gives her no advantage in terms of strength to speak of, and her ninjutsu will not be of much use in actual combat.

Yet missions do not wait for ninjas to grow fully before descending upon them. In an era of turmoil, Sayu would also find herself in trouble because of not-so-important work.

Surrounded by strong foes, she had to do her best and barely managed to escape. It cost her almost everything to bring the information back safely.

Exhausted and wounded, Sayu was about to faint, but only one thing lingered in her mind:

"It's not only strong brute force that can overpower everything, the weak have their own way of surviving. It's because you're weak that you can notice those unseen moments that change your fate... The chances of escaping from here are slim, but that's what my ninjutsu is for."

The moment the leaves fell, she disappeared. All her pursuers were incredulous. The tiny ninja disappeared as if she were dust in the wind.

The next morning, Sayu struggled to get up, and found that the ninja pack strapped to her leg had long since disappeared.

However, a surprising object appeared in the same place instead — a Vision gleaming in the sunrise.

Now, with the power of the Vision, Sayu can wield a claymore taller than herself. She no longer has to fear the omnipresent strife of a chaotic world.

Unfortunately, Sayu's most immediate worries have not yet been resolved.

Regarding her growing taller, it seems that even a Vision is unable to do anything about it.

yo bros, i played sayu and not gonna lie, im having fun with her roll-roll-roll thing lul. most fun char that i have. im planning to go full EM and ascend 6 her. the 3-star claymore “bloodtainted sword” is the highest EM that we got right?

    1. Bloodtainted Sword has 354 ATK and 187 EM at lvl 90
Rainslasher has 510 ATK and 165 EM at lvl 90.

It’s more useful to use Rainslasher (4 star, I know) and you will do some extra damage, specially if highly refined or against Hydro / Electro affected enemies (and you can swirl those to)

You lose 22 EM but gain 156 ATK, and remember her Muji-Muji Daruma healing initially scale off ATK. 22EM x 3 bonus at C6 are 66 more healing, vs 156 x 0.77987 = 121 more healing at Burst Talent Lvl 1, and it will be a bigger difference the higher the burst talent level. The gains in swirling for just 22 more EM is not worth losing the extra ATK Anemo dmg and the extra ATK healing.

Go for both. If you have either a claymore that benefits elemental mastery or attack, pick one. I would highly recommend a weapon that scales a lot, though. Here are some of the following weapons that can work for Sayu:

      – Wolf’s Gravestone
      – Luxurious Sea-Lord
      – Katsuragikiri Nagamasa
      – Rainslasher
      – Prototype Archaic
      – Favonius Greatsword
      – Bloodtainted Greatsword (has high EM)

      Nevermind, I tested it.
The effect of Shimenawa triggers exactly when using the skill, so by the time the full swirl goes off, the effect is also off.
Definitely not a good set for her if you plan to be using her full swirl.

I guess I will try another sets combinations for her since I want her to be a hybrid of normal damage and anemo damage.

I would think it’d be pretty solid as an option, though I feel it may fall behind in utility compared to other options until you c6 her. Until then, you’ll only buff her healing which is only so helpful. I would think an Atk% or ER weapon would be more practical until then given how consistent her heals already are, especially if you pull her c1

Definitely interested in seeing c6 Sayu with Rainslasher though

Her single target healing scales with attack yes but not her party healing, that one scales from EM and at C6 even more. Her multipliers are not that great to go for an attack weapon. Now if you want the buff that’s another thing but for healing she goes better with EM and damage wise she goes better with EM… swirl is kind of broken.

As much as I love Sayu’s voice in English, it pesters me how much she yawn at every. single. dialog. Even the japanese chinese and korean doesn’t do that. I wonder if it’s gotta do with the voice directing?

definitely the voice directing. similar with how people, mainly CN dub players are not liking how Xiao sounds like (aggressive af in the english dub hence why people label him eDgELOrd), when he is really a calm person with passive aggressive attitude, but he mainly just chills while being badass.

often times in Eng dub, the voice actors/actresses have a good voice for the character, but the directing is what failed them.

The fandom really needs to stop hating on the vas and attack the director directly

Yeah I mean the director’s credibility should have came into question all the way back when he casted Klee’s VA which was before the game even came out.

Personally, only a handful of FEW characters are good in English. Many, if not the majority, have something that makes them annoying to listen to.
Keqing with her idle “let’s GO you bum!”, Barbara is now depressing, Xinyan is a cowboy for some reason, HuTao is just inferior to her JP version, etc etc etc.. and now Sayu. What a shame I can’t play the game in ENG or I would go mad.

Jean can heal with normal attacks, has a heal field that does damage to enemies, acts like a buffer through constellations, and gives energy back after her burst. Both Sayu and Jean are good, but saying “one is better than other” is wrong.

Jean normal attack has a 50% chance to heal 15% of jeans atk. 2k atk is 300 heal, 3k is 450. again 50% chance,
Sayu however heals 300 at base, and 1.2 for every point of em 100% of the time when she swirls, basically pop her e a roll on an enemy for constant swirls. assuming lvl80 and base em she’d be healing 386 100% every time she swirls.

& you say “acts like a buffer through constellations” lololol. who is it easier to get cons on jean or sayu?
That being said sayu has a con that gives her 1.2 energy every 2sec when she swirls (again which she’ll be doing all the time)
I know jeans has higher multis but as far as ease of access, + having a useful passive that isnt a cooking boost, say is clearly the better option

Sayu is only better if you don’t have Jean

C6 Sayu is C1 Jean, but without Jean’s damage.

staying on a healer in combat is a dps loss and never really beneficial. its much better to be able to instant swap jean for full heal to your entire team + cleanse, and swap back to dps, compared to swapping sayu and healing one character to full over time instead of instantly, provided you stay near the daruma. on top of this, jean will almost always be able to burst more often, with less ER investment. also sayu doesnt cleanse.

if you prefer having to stay in one place for heals over time, instead of instantly full healing, then fair enough. but its generally less efficient if you are trying to play optimally. if youre on 10% hp and your entire team goes to 100%, youre very unlikely to die any time soon. but if youre on 10% hp and you go to 50 or 60%, youre still very much in danger

sayu is still very good, especially considering shes a 4*, but jean is still a better option for ease of use and general effectiveness.

(realistically though both suck bc you can just take zhongli and healers are irrelevant because youre literally immortal)

Can Sayu immobilize and take 30% of an healthbar of Fatui agents, the new Hydro fatui or even Cicin mages or like 50% of the whole ennemy cast by holding her E and releasing it?
Can Sayu insta-heal for 50% of ALL of your team ‘s health bar ?
Can Sayu be as versatile in Abyss at C0 compared to C0 Jean ?

No. Jean wins by far as a DPS / utility / healer component for most teams already. You only need to build ATK and energy recharge to make Jean more than self-sufficient with how her E works and how her Q scales with ATK. Sayu on the other hand demands Elemental Mastery : one of the worst RNG-based main or sub-stat.

Sayu asks for more ressources for a lesser result compared to Jean. She might be more fun to play with. though, i’m not gonna lie : this might be her only appeal compared to Jean.

            • Whap on 10 August 2021 at 9:57 am

Sayu does more damage. At least if the % values tell the whole story. Sayu also has better base stats.

Sayu can’t yeet. You win there.

Instant heal isn’t really that important. Sayu has sustained healing and I’d consider that much better than over-healing and getting low on hp again because your healer is down for 20 seconds.

            I don’t know why you’re comparing a 4* C0 to a 5* C0. C6 4* has about the same rarity as a C0 5*.

Sayu is also only built with ATK% and ER%. She only builds EM if she’s C6. However she barely loses out on ATK% and gains powerful swirls if she’s C6.

I believe Sayu’s the better pick so long as cleanse isn’t necessary for the activity.

Can Jean roll out like Sonic? Can she roadkill Timmie’s friends?

            Checkmate, min-maxers

            • Ghperson on 11 August 2021 at 9:51 am

Whap, you do reliaz Jean doesn’t focus on damage right? And her healing insta-heals your entire part and drops a healing field, unlike Sayu’s healing which only heals the character you’re playing as currently. And Jean’s burst gives back energy too, Sayu is nowhere near as good as Jean.

            • Bubu on 13 August 2021 at 7:24 pm

insta-heal for 50% HP? Jean can easily insta-heal for even more than that and her energy cost is alleviated by her ascension, she’s a great support and offers a good dmg indeed

not that Sayu is bad, Sayu seems pretty good, I just wouldn’t go around saying X is better than Y unless they have basically equal kits and work the exact same way and that’s not the case here

      1. Exactly, Sayu is just “Jean for those who don’t have Jean”. Also, Jean has the best cleanse in the game with her Ult, will work better as a DPS/sub-DPS than Sayu.

Reason qiqi sucks is because she has to auto attack to heal. Sayu looks like she’ll do less healing but she wont be a bother to dps. So in terms of flexibility shes further ahead than jean is when it comes to team compositions.

Bro what are you talking about, qiqi doesnt need to auto attack to heal, and thats not why she sucks either. Qiqi isnt good because she generates absolutely no energy and doesnt have any utility to her kit beyond some damage and healing

            • Bubu on 13 August 2021 at 7:18 pm

Exactly this, her main thing is healing for triple the amount of health your team needs, building her for dmg is not very rewarding, she provides no energy and the worst imo is that she’s awful at applying cryo to enemies

imagine if she applied cryo as well as Xingqiu applies hydro, I’m sure she’d be considered the best cryo support in the game lmao
